    DOCKYARD:

    Description:

Have you ever wondered how the cranes on the shipyard carry loads of several tons

with so much precision and accuracy These cranes are amalgamation of mechanical

expertise and human intelligence. Come and participate in event which makes to design the

same kind of cranes but in the smaller scale, even though it is smaller scale the precision

accuracy it takes is the same. Bring your robotic cranes and makes some moves and lift

some weights and collect many prizes.

    ARENA:

    Note:

The hook used must be attached to the arm and should not be left freely suspended. For preparing the hooks of the lifting device any kind of appropriate shape can be

used such as circle, semi circle, triangular etc, but use electromagnets to attract the

    blocks is strictly prohibited.

    ARENA SPECIFICATION:

Complete arena is divided into 3 zones A, B, C. Zone A is of 30cm X 30cm area where the base of the robot is kept. Zone B is of 60cm X 30cm area and here several colored blocks are arranged as shown in

    the above figures.

Zone C is of 20cmX 30cm area where the lifted blocks are placed. Total of 6 blocks are place in the zone B. Every block is a cube of 10cm i.e. (10 X 10 X 10cm) with a hook of the shape shown in

the figure above. Cube is made of wood or hard cardboard as per the convenience.

    Robot Specifications:

Dimensions: 30cm X 30cm Height: No restriction. Weight: No restriction. Power: Should not exceed 12V. Controller: wired/ wireless.

    Point system:

Points are based on the formula written below:

Points = Device points + Play points

Device points = [1000 (j * 100)]J = no. of joints in the lifting system. (Every joint is considered even at the base of the

system and every moving arm joint is considered)

    Play points = [1000 t (sec)] + [{(y*2) + (g*4) + (r*6)} * 100]

    T= time taken

Y= no. of yellow blocks lifted

G= no. of green blocks lifted

R= no. of red blocks lifted

    Game play:

There are no multiple rounds in dockyard. Individual performances are taken into consideration to calculate the points and declare

    the winner.

Every participant is allowed to have 3 chances for every trail time is recorded and pointsare calculated as per the blocks lifted by the system.

Both device and play points are considered for the declaration of the winner. Device has to be in the prescribed range of 30cm X 30cm at the start of the game

and after the indication of the manager the whole system can opened to catch hold

    of the blocks.

The device has to follow the procedure in picking the blocks, first it need to transfer theyellow blocks, then green and then red.

Our volunteers will remove the block from the device as soon as the block completelytouches the zone C.

Timer will be stopped as soon as the last red block completely touches the zone C.General Rules

The teams must adhere to the spirit of healthy competition. The teams must notdamage the opponent's machine in any way.

Judges reserve the right to disqualify any team indulging in misbehavior. Any team that is not ready at the time specified will be disqualified from the

    competition automatically.

The machine would be checked for its safety before the race and would be discarded iffound unsafe for other teams and spectators.

Decision of the judges shall be treated as final and binding on all.
