Playing it Forward in CastlegarIn 2017, the City of Castlegar used its share

of provincial gaming revenues for hosting

Chances Castlegar to support the City’s capital

program, investing in a variety of initiatives

that contribute to life in the community.

The City made a series of enhancements to the

award-winning Millennium Park and Ponds,

including new sports courts and an off-leash dog

park. Millennium Park is a sprawling 23-hectare

park near downtown Castlegar, with a vast

variety of areas and amenities for residents and

visitors to enjoy, including the largest bike park

in the Kootenays. It also has three river-fed

swimming pools, tennis courts, kids’ play area,

picnic grounds and much more.

gaming facility receive a 10 percent share of the

net revenue those facilities generate. Last year,
