Developing a website and blog

Due to our brand being completely online, the website or blog needs to be an important aspect in

the developing stage. This will be the main source of the brands messages, information, styles etc., so therefore it needs to obtain a distinct style which

connotes our message of confidence and being bold in what you wear. At this stage, the development of a website or blog is just a possibility so we are just

carrying out some research so if we decide to create one, we know how to do it and what we want to

achieve.

By choosing a category, it narrows down your search so you can pick a template that

suits the topic of your website or blog. There were many templates we liked that had a simple look that would really emphasise the style of the brand and immediately attract the audience to the

clothing.

These are the templates we like for both blogs (top) and

websites (bottom). We like the simplistic style and easy

navigation they ensure whilst still obtaining an edgy style.

Using these templates we would create our own photos, text and

layout.

This bottom template is one we have practised and started to

develop, filling in our own content and text to create an idea of what the final product

will look like.

Here are the tools that enable you to create the website or blog. They allow you to

expand on creation, on every aspect of the pages, like text, images, layout and much

more. These tools are very flexible and easy to use.

Websites

TOPSHOPTopshop’s simple layout ensures that immediate attention is intended to the clothes.

The use of bright colours in the slide show appeals to the clothes and connotes the seasonal range of spring/summer. The bar at the top proves easy to use from lots of experience and the use of extra links to pages of new trends or brands using images

etc.

H&MBy showing off their latest collection on the homepage, H&M

focuses on presenting their featured collection to fashion lovers. Simple navigation on the top left side give an easy to navigate

option while the other campaigns and menus sit nicely on the top and bottom right side of the webpage.

COSThe simplicity in this particular layout also makes sure the audiences attention is immediately asserted to the clothes. The variety of the

individual pieces against a white background creates a blog like layout and connotes a message of clothes being an important aspect of life.

& other storiesThis is the daughter company to COS however targeting a younger audience. With similar layouts, the brand concentrates on the image the clothes create. Its simple and easy navigation attracts a wider audience as it makes the audience happier to purchase products.

ASOS MarketplaceThis website attracts a large audience because of its wide variety of styles and the ways their set out. The large image shows its distinct independent style of vintage boutiques that are easy to access. The website also makes

clear the seasonal trends, using smaller images as links for instant gratification.

BlogsThe next few slides show some blogs that have a simple but

independent style that express the importance of individuality in clothes. Their layouts are of a similar style that we would like to

achieve in our own advert.
