Option A proposes a small deck to be constructed around the pool in a L-shape to provide access to the inground stairs into the pool. This option will have a gentle slope right up to the wall between the existing patio and the proposed wall with a possible 18”or less step wall with a possible 18”or less step into the lawn. Therefore, a rail will not have to be constructed for safety. A railing is proposed on the left hand side of the deck due to the elevation change. The wall is only in a L-shape to provide access under the deck to the access under the deck to the control panel. If need be the size of the deck can be decreased to 75 sq ft and the railing to 12 linear feet. For any reason the slope is greater than 18” fall , a railing around the deck would be recommended.
