Flow velocities with single hole orifice plates

> Restriction orifices are designed accurately taking into account all the relevant operating conditions and specific parameters such as noise, cavitation and critical flow.

> Incorrect design and calculation of restriction orifices without considering these parameters can lead to costly replacement of equipment.

> Used to manage pressure drops or to restrict flow rates in a pipe work> Multi-stage and/or multi-holes restriction orifices used for high pressure and/or high noise

applications.When the desired pressure drop cannot be achieved by a single plate, a multi-stage restriction orifice assembly is required. It is composed of several orifice plates, each of them reducing the fluid pressure to its maximum capacity. The orifice plate can be a single-bore or a multi-bore plate if the noise level is critical.

During the design stage, calculations are performed to avoid cavitation and choked flow at each stage of the flow restriction.

Multi-holes restriction orifices are implemented to meet this demand : increase the number of orifices in order to reduce the noise level.

Occurs for a liquid when large pressure drops are required.

Occurs for a gas when a big pressure drop is required and so sonic conditions can be reached.
