Mechanics of the Competition

A. Theme

B. Objectives a. To promote, revive, re-invent and strengthen our culture as Filipino

and encourage the young generation to practice our native dances to re-establish our own identity;

b. To enhance the artistic talents and aesthetic values of our learners; c. To deepen learners' knowledge on Philippine Culture and Arts as well

as their communication skills.

C. The competition is open to all recognized school based performing arts groups in the

Philippines. PACES individual members is encourage to join the competition.

D. The competitions shall have three [3] stages:

Stage One

Information, dissemination and distribution of the Competition guidelines in hard copy, CD and electronic formats, and identification and training of qualified contestants;

Stage Two

Video Screening of the Competitions to be accomplished by submission of acceptable video formats of the contestant's performance audition enclosed in the Application Packet which must be sent to the PACES Secretariat Office, Blk. 62, Lot 2, Marigold corner Bay Drive, Robinsons Homes East Subd., San Jose, Antipolo City and must be received on or before December 31, 2016. Participating contingent will present one folk dance of their choice in the Regional Video Screening and perform two dances in the National Finals on February 16 -18, 2017, Maria Capra Paluena will be the contest piece for Secondary while Kiriwkiw for Elementary. Second piece will be the group choice of folk dance preferably a skill dance from their locality/region. Each piece will be treated and judged equally.

including entrance and exit. 5. Dangerous stunts are prohibited during the performance. 6. Decency of costume/s must be observed accordingly. 7. Only hand props is allowed. Use of pyro-technique materials, sharp

objects, water/powderized materials are discouraged. 8. Solidarity/Registration fee of One thousand Pesos will be charged to

every participating group. 9. Music can be remix or in any original form. Music must be in a CD

format and to be submitted a day before the competition. 10. Participating contingent will present one hip hop dance of their

1. The number of participants must not exceed to thirty [30] members including conductor and accompanist.

2. Solidarity/Registration fee of One thousand Pesos will be charged to every participating group.

3. Participating contingent will present one chorale rendition of their choice in the Regional Video Screening in acceptable video formats of the contestant's performance audition enclosed in the Application Packet

4. In the National Finals, Repertoire includes Tanong Po Lamang by Josefino Chino Toledo and Charisse Toledo for Elementary and Ambo Hoto by Augusto Espino for Secondary and one Original Pilipino song. Each rendition will be treated and judge equally.

5. Maximum allotted time for presentation is ten [10] minutes including ingress and egress.

6. There will be two categories [elementary and secondary level]. 7. Trainer/s and other artistic/creative staff/s of the participating group

must be a PACES Lifetime member and/or encouraged to join the society.

3. Repertoire/Presentation for the Final Competition must consist of at least three [3] song rendition of Philippine Culture and Values and/or rooted and grounded on the festival's annual theme.

4. Solidarity/registration fee of One thousand Pesos will be charged to every participating group.

5. Maximum allotted time for the presentation is fifteen [15] minutes including ingress and egress.

6. There will be two categories [elementary and secondary]. 7. Trainer/s and other artistic/creative staff/s of the participating group

4. In the National Finals, Repertoire includes Ang Paglalayag arranged by Mr. James L. Lastra for Elementary and Malagu ken Naraniag arranged by Mr. James L. Lastra for Secondary and one Original Pilipino Music. Each rendition will be treated and judged equally.

5. Certification Letter from respective school signed by the head/principal/administrator attesting that the group is recognized by the academic institution.

6. Materials must be derived from available indigenous craft materials [eg. Broken glass, plates ceramics, paper, wood etc] to be posted in a 45" X 24" illustration board/plywood. Final masterpiece will be form part of the Festival.

7. Participating group are responsible to bring their own art materials. 8. Criteria for Judging

Artistic Rendition 25% Adaptability to the Festival Theme 25% Visual Appeal and Impact 25% Art Object Stability 25%

FUN-FIESTA SA PILIPINAS 2017 AND FIFTH NATIONAL PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL 2017 OF THE PHILIPPINE ARTS AND CULTURE EDUCATORS' SOCIETY INC.

The Philippine Arts and Culture Educators' Society (PACES) Inc. wi l l launch the Fun-Fiesta sa Pilipinas 2017 and Fifth National Performing Arts Festival 2017 wi th the theme Kabataang Pilipino, Lundayan ng Kultura't Sining, Yaman ng Lahi at Dangal ng Bansa..., Ipagmalafzi Natin Ito.

The Competition aims to:

1. promote, revive, re-invent and strengthen the Filipino culture and encourage the young generation to practice the native dances to re-establish their own identity;

2. enhance their artistic talents and aesthetic values; and 3. deepen learners' knowledge on Philippine culture and arts, as well

as their communications skills.

The Competition shall have the following stages:

The Competition is open to all recognized school-based performing arts groups in the Philippines. Each PACES individual member is encouraged to jo in the Competition.

Participation of both public and private schools shall be subject to the no-disruption-of-classes policy stipulated in DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 entitled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith.
