Principal’s Thoughts
We are fortunate at Ranfurly to have a super-vised crossing at the front of our school. Please make sure that students and parents use the crossing to stay safe. A huge thank you to the students and parents who always use the crossing and are a fantastic example when com-ing to and from school. Last Monday we held a special Ranfurly ANZAC Day assembly. Thanks go to Ms Corinne Shore & Mr Brendan Alderton for organising the event and to our Student Leaders who ran the ceremony proving to be very knowledgeable & respectful. We had a good turnout of parents, grandparents and friends and we would like to say thanks to the Ranfurly Community for helping us share this important and significant occasion. Thanks also go to Codi-Lee Dimasi & Kaleb Barbary (Student Leaders) who placed a wreath at Tuesday’s ANZAC Day Ceremony on the Cenotaph in Henderson Park on behalf of students, staff and families from Ranfurly Primary School. Well done Codi-Lee & Kaleb! Our 1/2 students will have the opportunity next Wednesday 3 May to head out to the Meringur Pioneer Park for the day learning about history and the ‘olden days’. Students have been very busy practising for our school’s annual Cross Country Run. Parents/ grandparents and friends are invited to come and watch the Run next Tuesday 2 May 2017 from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Which House Captains will hold the House Shield up at the end of the competition? – Kulnine has won the last three years (2014, 2015 & 2016); with the last time the other House Teams winning were Dairtnunk (2013), Yerre Yerre (2012) and Cowra (2004). Our students will have a terrific morning in their House teams, wearing House colours, doing their best running round the school, supporting each other and cheering for their House. Good luck to all teams! Dennis & Mark

Cross Country Our annual Cross Country will be held this Tuesday 2nd May. All students will compete in their year level groups and run around a designated long distance track. This is a HOUSE day and all students can dress in their house colours and please remember to wear appropriate footwear for running.
All parents and families are invited to the cross country to watch the children run and we look forward to seeing as many people there as possible. The Cross Country Races will commence at 9.05am with the Prep Boys. The rest of the events will closely follow this one with our aim for all events to be completed by 10.25am. Here is a timetable of the events -
10.30 – Presentations Outdoor Assembly Area
Lastly, we are asking whether any parents from Grade 3 – 6 would be able to assist with track marshalling on the day. This will involve being posted to a particular part of the track to assist and direct students if required. You will still get the opportunity to see your child run. If you are able to help out, please see Ms Shore.
