SOCIETY REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF JULY 2017

“Rain Rain come again

Little DPSites wants to play!!!”

Thunder showers bright lightening and the welcome monsoon heralded the month of July at Delhi Public

School, Nadergul.

Haritha Haram: - With rains being welcomed always the school continued with in plantation programs

throughout the month as a 3rd phase of Haritha Haram continued in the school premises.

18th July 2017 saw the honorable mayor Mr B. Ram Mohan participating in the green drive of the school.

The children on this occasion performed a role play on delivering the message on saving trees which was

appreciated by the Honorable Guest.

He also applauded the birthday garden idea of planting a tree on every birthday. Thus, adding to

the green cover in the school.

2nd Investiture Ceremony:

Leadership is to carry responsibility and work with discipline throughout the day. Delhi Public

School Nadergul understands that leadership has to be nurtured young hence the Investiture Ceremony

every year on a grand scale invests young leaders of their roles and responsibilities.

The Head Boy, Head Girl and other members of the cabinet chosen by the teachers and

fellow students in an online election procedure, stood tall and stately on the investiture day of 8th July

2017 when members from Army, Navy and Airforce, Col. Anil Bedarkar (ASL) and Hemant Walia (Principal

Inspector of Naval Armament) invested them of their portfolios.

The new responsibility this year is that of a Student Representative and a Mess Incharge, The

Green Crusaders and the DPS Chargers promised to continue the good practices in the school and

carried forward to reach it to the society.

ITC Drive:

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle are the key ideas for a greener future. Zuzu and

his friends believe in this idea strongly are association with ITC, which started last

year took off to a brilliant start this year.

Parents and students together contributed more than 2600 kgs of paper towards the recycling

drive.

Students were also welcomed by the ITC to participate in a Launching of GHMC and ITC - WOW

clubs at Shilpakalavedika, where students presented a ballet.

This adage seems to be very apt for Zuzu and all his friends. In school, learning happens in classrooms,

on the playground, in my Art Corner and also when we go on field trips. Oh!!! What fun it is to learn

practical knowledge by going to a dairy farm and watching the Ice – Creams being made in front of our

eyes.

The students of Grade 1 and 3 were taken to the Nehru Zoological Park where we learned more about

word animals and domestic animals, their food habits and the problem these animals are facing due to

water problem these days.

Grade 2 students were taken to the Masquati dairy farm to get firsthand knowledge about preparation of

ice – creams flavored milk and other milk, dishes.

Grade 4 children were taken on a visit to the Botanical Garden to gain knowledge about climbing, creepers,

herbs, Shrubs and trees for Zuzu it was surprising that it was cooler in the Botanical Garden though the

temperature outside was hot. No wonder my teacher says

“Plant more Trees”, where others are trees there is life.

Grade 5 field trip was a unique one where students were taken to Dominos Kitchen and we were taught

pizza making, healthy salads and the benefits of eating fresh vegetables

Ohhh!! What a day it was with pizzas and pizzas everywhere.

My pre – primary friends had a field trip to the NTR park as the baby’s day out was filled worth

happiness and joy all around.

School started this new initiative of Vocabulary calendars placed in every classroom with words for

each day and their meanings given.

Our password pouches consist of one word from the vocabulary calendar to be learned every day. What a

fun way to learn it is.

My principal announced that my school has got a permission to start the NCC

Scouts and Guides in the school campus with around 30 children being trained

for the course. Students of grade 6 and 7 boys were asked to enroll in it to

develop fitness equality and of course the honor of being an NCC Student.

The school now is being students exclusively with SMART TAB solutions exclusively with 2 sections of

Grade5 and 2 sections of grade 6.

The children use the TAB along with the enriched learning material, with audio and video files to improve

their learning out comes.

In combination to improvement in academics our school also started the PAT program, A program for

academically talented which aims at training students in Higher Order Thinking Skills exclusively in Math

and Science. Around 26 students have been selected for this program.

Zuzu is an Audio-visual learner. I learnt by seeing and doing one of the greatest helps I have in school is

when my teachers used the projectors which are now in every class rooms and with the help of various

PPTS and ideas involve the concept to me.

I forgot to inform all of you.

We would be extremely busy in the months of Oct – Dec as our school has taken up the

prestigious ISA project given by the British Council. A series of 7 projects have been taken up by the

school which would be conducted for the next 4 – 5 months

As part of learning module on road safety, the students of grade 5 took out a rally to highlight the

importance of road safety rules and also educated by their fellow students and teachers for being safe at

all times. As part of this the police department of Adibatla also spoke to the drivers on being safe while

during on being safe while dresses not to use their cell phones and other precaution measures against

accident.

To see to touch to feel and to hear

These are the basic senses that need to be honed in every pre – primary child DPS Nadergul took up this

initiative of conducting a sensorial activity with children being asked to identify, the different senses by

feeling, touching, telling and tasting various objects.

With the rains pouring down in the entire month of July all the trees will in my school campus sported a

fry green look. This fresh man was also teen in the preprimary with the color yellow bring the primary

theme of the month. So, will yellow fruits and yellow caps, the cold of the sun added a fresh bout of sun

shine in the classes.

With sun brain playing hide and seek this month July, was busy with a host of activities, new

adventures and all around
