For each AIESEC entity (LC, MC, AI) there is one thing that con-nects the past with the present and the future and that is its legacy. Therefore, AIESEC Cluj-Napoca wants to make EuroCo 2012 part of its legacy.

And since we are talking about time and legacy, this spring, we had the honour and pleasure to celebrate 18 years since our LC was founded. Regarding the size of our LC, currently, AIESEC in Cluj-Napoca has a number of 160 mem-bers that are actively involved in organizing projects focus on four major areas: CSR, IT, Entrepreneur-ship and Non-Formal Education. If we are talking about results in numbers, the past year we suc-ceeded in realizing 92 exchanges (incoming and outgoing) and we offered over 70 leadership position opportunities and this year we are planning to achieve a number of 126 exchanges and 75 leadership positions.

As part of our organization culture are the SIGPE DACIM values that were successfully transmitted from one AIESEC generation to another and which are: Sharing Development, Inspiring Action, Getting Connected, Performing Intelligence, Exploring the Mind. We are really excited to state that AIESEC Cluj-Napoca is present in more than one country and one city.

Our members are known to be present in MC teams all across the globe taking the lead and investing in the development of the organization wherever it may be placed. That is why, once more, we want to be involved in the development of the leaders of AIESEC and set the stage for EuroCo 2012. All throughout the years we were actively involved in the Con-ference Cycle of AIESEC in Roma-nia by organizing some of the most important national confer-ences. In the past years we organ-ized a national conference each year. This ensured our LC culture to be oriented towards supporting the network and having the desire to strive for excellence in organiz-ing conferences and delivering exceptional servicing for delegates, partners and facilita-tors.

We are delighted to invite you to join us on this journey. Take a chance to make history as we take the road less trodden… as we develop as individuals… as we grow in AIESEC… as we organize EuroCo 2012, Romania.

Since EuroCo 2012 is powered by AIESEC Cluj-Napoca, you may want to get to know them a little better.

Let’s say you all manage to get to the venue. The next thing would be the check-in. To make this as easy, smooth and comfortable for all as possible, please prepare and move through the following steps:

Enter venue and find a place to put your luggage and wait, that is not in front of the reception desk.

Send your delegation-responsible to the reception desk to pick up your check in forms (and bring them back to you).

Go to the reception desk with your form and passport (or other valid travel document) and have someone from the CC check you in.

Each of you fill out and sign your own form.

Proceed to your room.

In case you need PRE accommodation, because arriving before the conference (on the 15th, 16th or 17th of October), you can stay in the main venue (Grand Hotel Napoca****). We strongly recommend this because then we can immediately check you in for the whole conference and you don’t have to move on the 18th. Some informa-

come in handy

when you are in

Romania

In Romania, the currency used is the Romanian Leu (code: RON). However, during the conference the common currency is Euros. This is what we will use at the hotel and the CC shop. As you have read in the Special Events’ part – we will have some of the parties in private clubs in the city centre. Please be aware that at these places you will have to pay in RON. Exchange rate

BAM – RON 2.33777CAD – RON 3.63025CHF – RON 3.77473EUR – RON 4.57230USD – RON 3.55213CZK – RON 0.18314HRK – RON 0.61088HUF – RON 0.01614LTL – RON 1.32423PLN – RON 1.12253SEK – RON 0.53006TRY – RON 1.94698

If you plan on bringing cash money, there are plenty of exchange places in the city centre but they don’t take all currencies. Therefore we recommend you to bring no currencies than Euros and US Dollars.

Cluj-Napoca has a continental climate, characterized by warm dry summers and cold winters. The climate is influenced by the city's proximity to the Apuseni Mountains, as well as by urbanization. Some West-Atlantic influences are present during winter and autumn. As you can see in both Celcius and Farenheit degrees – October is not exactly a warm month in Cluj-Napoca. Average temperatures are between 39 and 60ºF and 4 and 16ºC. So make sure to bring warm clothes!

Romanians are friendly and open and foreigners are usually made very welcome. Chatting with visitors is very common for Romanians and they will find a way to communi-cate with you even if they cannot speak your language. Initial greetings are formal and reserved: a handshake, direct eye contact, and the appropriate greeting for the time of day.

Some older Romanians kiss a woman's hand when meeting them. Foreign men are not expected to kiss a Romanian woman's hand.

Close friends may kiss and hug each other when they meet. Allow your Romanian friends to determine when your relationship has reached this level of intimacy. When kissing, expect to kiss twice, once on each cheek starting with the left cheek
