Musical “A ChristmasCarol”

Performance Riverside’s Family Series’2004 production of “A Christmas Carol”will feature some fresh faces both onstageand behind the scenes….some of themost accomplished students of RiversideCommunity College’s Performing ArtsDepartment.

Student Choreographer Jordan Beck, and Musical Director and 2000 RCC gradBrady Kerr join forces with DirectorChuck Abernathy of the PerformanceRiverside staff, for this revamped musicalproduction of the holiday classic.

Chuck says, “It’s especially gratifying towork with Jordan. He has been a real

friend to me, and it’s been a joy to seehim develop from an ambitious teenagerjust 6 years ago, to an accomplished play-wright, performer and choreographer.”Jordan, who won an Inland TheatreLeague award for his performance in lastyear’s production, is well known to Inlandaudiences both as a performer, and as theauthor of Rialto Community Player’s pro-duction of “A Tale of Two Cities.”Jordan’s cousin and Tale of Two Citiesvet, 7-year old Gabriel May, will also beappearing as Tiny Tim.

Chuck continues, “Brady Kerr has real-ly knocked me out with his drive, enthusi-asm, and dead-on-the-money instincts. He came highly recommended, and I’dbeen a fan of his work since he was astudent here, but I had no idea. It’s likehe knows what I want before I do, andfinds a spin to make an idea even better.”Brady is taking out time from his busyschedule as a session musician and com-poser to musically direct this show. “Thetalent I found here with the performers,”Brady says, “has far exceeded my bestexpectations.”

“I’m lucky,” Chuck says with a grin.“I’ve got friends like John Lynd, Joe Musil,

Beginning a new tradition atOakTree Village, Apple Annie’sis preparing a fun-filled specialChristmas treat for the kids (andparents) this year as it kicks offits First Annual Santa’s Kitchen.

Here is what’s on the menu: Starting Friday evening, Dec.3, and going each weekend, Dec. 3-5, Dec. 10-12, and Dec.17-19, children visiting OakTree Village are invited to Apple

Annie’s to have dinner with Santa, Frosty the Snowman andRudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - and, of course, Santa’selves. After dinner, the children will gather on comfortable, cozyquilts. Apple Annie’s owners, the Wilson and Fox families, encourage the little ones to wear their pajamas and get comfyas they cozy up with hot chocolate and listen to the stories.

“This is for the kids and we want to help bring someChristmas magic to their holidays. It will be lots of fun foreveryone,” Terry Fox said.

Weight-loss successHoliday eating getting the better of you? The good news is, after all the indulging is over,

you can take all the pounds off with a little work. Denise Crocker, who attends Curves for

Women in Glen Avon and has been featured in past inspiration articles, gives the following

success story to spur you on:

“I have continued to lose weight for a grand total of 104 pounds and 82 inches since

joining Curves in Oct., 2003. I work out five days a week and eat lots of fruit and vegeta-

bles. My doctors told me my cholesterol and triglycerides are lower than his and he is a fit

young man. I was able to get my driver’s license back from a medical suspension and I am

now working at Curves! I am celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary and can fit in the

skirt I got married in! I have a whole new life and I owe it to Curves.”
