MasterSeal 754

The waterproofing membrane MasterSeal 754 based on highly elastic polyolefin and providing strong mechanical bond to concrete does not require any protective screed

Field of application • Deep footings of building, as well as all types of underground

constructions. • Building walls erected with the use of single- or double-sided

shuttering.

Features and advantages • Full-scaled bond between the membrane and concrete

throughout the entire area of contact. • Installed immediately prior to the assembly

of the reinforcement cage and concrete mix application. • No protective screed is required after installation. • Reduces time and labour effort required for stripping. • Quick and easy installation without welding: bonding by means of self-adhesive elements. • Resistance to weathering during installation. • Does not allow water to permeate through

the structure and the waterproofing layer due to bonding.

• High elasticity even at low temperatures. • Constant resistance to water pressure up to 5 bars. • High mechanical shock resistance. • Resistance to aggressive subsoil waters. • Long-term working life.

Consumption • In order to calculate the total consumption of sheet waterproofing membranes, add 10% to the total area

of surface for edge overlapping and 2–3% to the total area of waterproofing for losses depending on the construction site conditions

• Inner and outer angle units should be used in open and closed corners while detailing lift pits. • MasterSeal 934 should be used for interconnection of the membrane butt ends, on vertical surfaces

and in the areas of waterproofing transition from the base slab to the wall surface.

MasterSeal 754 technology

The substrate surface should be smooth and clean, so that the risk of MasterSeal 754

damage during installation could be excluded. The surface can be humid but should not contain still water. When it is not possible to ensure the required smoothness, geotextile with at least 200 g/m² density may be laid prior to the membrane installation. In the same manner, place MasterSeal 754 IC angle units in the corresponding corners. The self-adhesive side should always face the laid concrete.

Fasten the self-adhesive MasterSeal 934 strip vertically in the corners by

means of a clamp at the top of it. The self-adhesive side should always face the concrete. Remove the release foil from the self-adhesive MasterSeal 754 IC corner accessory and attach it to the vertical strip. Perform the similar operation for the horizontal corners.

In case of waterproofing of a wall with single-sided shuttering, the upper edge

of the membrane should be placed at a minimum distance of 200 mm away from the base slab and fastened without any damages. MasterSeal 754 membrane should be installed and fastened at a minimum height of 200 mm above the upper edge of any shuttering. The butt end of the membrane should be fixed on the vertically attached MasterSeal 934 strip; longitudinally, the membranes should be connected by means of self-adhesive parts.

The membrane butt ends should always be interconnected by means

of MasterSeal 934 strip. It should be attached to the vertical surface along the width of the membrane. After that, remove half of the protective film and fasten the membrane on the corresponding half of MasterSeal 934 strip. Butyl rubber surface of the strip should be in a full contact with the membrane, forming no wrinkles or beads. Then, attach the next membrane section and remove the second half of the protective film from MasterSeal 934 strip. It is reasonable to use a staple gun in order to hold the sealing strip in place.

Each lateral edge of MasterSeal 754 membrane should be equipped with

a self-adhesive border (100 mm width). The membrane edges should make contact; however, a 5 mm misalignment is considered acceptable. Avoid any membrane sheet overlapping. Remove the protective film from the self-adhesive border and carefully stick together the membrane edges.

All butt-end connections should be performed with the aid of 200 mm

MasterSeal 934 strip. When laying the membranes, the middle of the strip should have an even joint, not exceeding 5 mm and providing absolute impermeability.

After the MasterSeal 754 system installation, proceed immediately with

the reinforcement cage assembly and concreting. Prior to concrete mix pouring, moisten the membrane surface in order to ensure better adhesion to concrete. Minimum requirements for concrete properties: compressive strength class B25 (~25 MPa) and higher, workability P4 (~16–20 cm slump) and higher.

System components

MasterSeal 754 contact membrane, providing full adhesion to concrete structures; developed according to the technology of FPO membrane lamination with non-woven fleece.

MasterSeal 934 – adhesive strip with butyl rubber surface on one side; based on FPO.

MasterSeal 935 – double-sided butyl rubber adhesive strip.

MasterSeal 754 IC is inside corner accessory with butyl rubber surface; FPO-based.

MasterSeal 754 OC is outside corner accessory with butyl rubber surface; FPO-based.

Prior to the system installation, it is recommended to cover uneven surfaces with non-woven geotextile (minimum density is 200 g/m²).
