El Día de los Muertos

Where is ‘The Day of the Dead’ celebrated? Mainly in Mexico and Central America 1)When is it celebrated? November 1st and 2nd 2) What is Pan de Muerto? It is a traditional food made for this holiday. It is sweet in flavor and is often called the “bread of the dead”3) Is the day of the dead a sad time or happy time? Although death brings sad feelings, people believe that the dead of the dead is when the spirits return again. It is a festive time. 4) What is the ofrenda? The ofrenda is an alter (or a literal offering). Food, water, candles, and other objects are placed on the alter for the spirits. These alters are made to honor a deceased loved one. (They’re typically set up on a table with white table cloth).

So What is the Dead of the Dead?

• In summary; the Day of the Dead is a festive holiday in many countries. Spirits are said to be return again on this day. Alters Or Ofrendas are prepared in order to celebrate the lives of the deceased.
