It’s a way of using technology to make your job easier!
Called an LMS (Learning Management System)
Used for ~8 years in district Some schools have own server, most
at eclass.sd42.ca

Reasons to use Moodle
saving time on photocopying course materials
less paperwork (or paper marking) to carry with you
allows for faster and easier (marking) overall
richer and more interactive homework and/or assignments
no lost assignments
Reasons to use Moodle
once created, have course forever some students excel at discussing online
rather than face-to-face time and date stamped written output increases students notified when assignments
marked feedback stored in Moodle – can’t be lost parents can access Moodle courses not platform dependent

Ideas to start
Hand out worksheet = place word document onto a course and tell the students where it is
In-class end-of-unit test = create a quiz. Stick to short answer and multiple choice items for an easy life smile
Set essay homework = create assignment Show video with worksheet = embed a
YouTube video in a quiz as a description, then have them discuss in a forum
