dare welcome

How many times have you uttered the words, “Where does the time go?” or, “How fast has this year flown by?” It often seems as though 24 hours have been shrunk into 10. Personally, I’ve become concerned about this ‘speed of light’ living.

This general concern was brought home and made personal to me and my family abruptly with a recent unexpected death in our family. It made us realize that time - every single second of it - is THE most precious resource gifted to us all. How frivolous are we with those precious moments, though? How many do we waste on worry, anger, fear, restlessness, resentment, anxiety and doing things we don’t enjoy?

During my exclusive interview this month with the heart-centered Baeth Davis, she reveals that we should all be doing what we love and receiving just reward for our commitment to living on purpose. If you’re finding that life is racing past at break-neck speed and your precious time is being squandered doing activities you dislike, it’s time to STOP: it’s imperative you take action NOW to course correct.

One powerful way to do this is to embrace the strength of ‘Mindful Meditation’. This month’s dare challenge takes us on a journey of Growth Through Stillness. Each day, I’ll be unfolding the joys of slowing down my life and creating pauses to open up the pathways of untapped creativity.

It’s time to slow down...I dare you to join me.

who’s behinddare

dare was born from Tania’s vision to unite heart-centred entrepreneurs around the world with bold and enterprising entrepreneurs making a difference…while having lots of fun. “Boring is out”, is Tania’s motto.

OFTEN TOUTED as the “Queen of Connection”, Tania Usher is internationally renowned for her daring philosophies for uncovering an authentic success mindset.

The tenacious Tania believes the only thing stopping people from reaching the success they crave, is their own self-doubt.

“Entrepreneurship is one of the most powerful self-development journeys on which anyone can embark.  When you couple a success mindset with powerful masterminding, insightful mentoring and taking action…amazing things happen, even when at times the hurdles seem impossible to leap.”

Tania understands this first hand. After years of living and working abroad, winning numerous international awards and building a successful executive career, Tania tamed her wandering soul and returned to Australia in 1999 to start a family. Within 5 years of leaving the jet-setting corporate world, Tania buried her baby boy, gave birth to two healthy daughters, became the sole provider for her family, experienced escalating credit card debt and was served home repossession papers.

An unstinting faith in her own ability, coupled with a hefty dose of courage, propelled Tania

to take a huge leap towards entrepreneurship. Her creative communication ideas have led to over $5 million in media coverage for both herself and her clients.

Featured regularly in the media, including recent appearances on the Today Show, Tania believes that nurturing relationships and making soulful connections is the key to success in all areas of life.

Thousands of people follow Tania online, and her events have touched the lives of over 100,000 people from a variety of industries and nations.

Tania’s authentic, heart-centred approach to communication and connection will continue to empower entrepreneurs around the world to take big leaps that will lead to the positive transformation in the lives of millions of people worldwide.

TIP #1: WRITE WELL. Write reader-friendly, useful and relevant copy. Readers will link to it, they will tell their friends about it, search engine spiders will find the inbound links, your rank will rise and even more readers will come to your site. Bottom line: write for readers first, and search engines will follow.

TIP #2: USE KEYWORDS STRATEGICALLY. ‘Front load’ your headings, which means use your keywords in the first 1 – 3 words, to attract both search engines and readers. Website readers scan copy in an ‘F’ shaped pattern, so words near the top of the page and at the beginning of headings will catch their attention. Search engines like to find keywords at the beginning of the copy, in most paragraphs, and somewhere near the end.

TIP #3: UNDERLINE, BOLD AND ITALISIZE. Website readers’ eyes will be drawn to these emphasized words, and your ranking will increase as search engines are programmed to assume words with these treatments are keywords.

TIP #4: INCLUDE INTERNAL CONTEXTUAL LINKS. Links within copy help attract readers’ and spiders’ attention. To be effective, they should be comprised of your keywords as part of a sentence. Using contextual links internally, which means linking to other pages within your own site, draws readers deeper into your site and helps ensure your search engine page ranks are distributed evenly.

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. Just wanted to drop you a note from Spain to say how much I love dare and appreciate the incredible amount of work that goes into producing such a high quality magazine. It’s a great read and full of integrity. Such a breath of fresh air compared to the rest of the women’s magazines which foster fear, insecurity and criticism amongst women. Instead, dare fosters boldness, bravery and bonding between us. It has reached me on my little island in the Mediterranean, and I love it. In addition to dare, I have crossed paths with you twice in the past 24 hours without your knowledge. Once via Pam Brossman, and I’ve just finished listening to your amazing interview on Red Tent Radio. Very inspiring. Ludwina produces a wonderful weekly show, and I am addicted to it. Like dare, both offer much needed support to people like me who are developing businesses in isolated locations. I’ll certainly be spreading the word about dare. - Vanessa Jeny, Menorca Bluewww.MenorcaBlue.com

dare TO BE YOUR OWN KIND OF MOTHER. Something powerful happens when you become a mother. Something almost competitive, an instinct to want to be a super mum, to always put on a pretence that everything is always perfect because it can seem from the outside that all the others mothers you know are doing it all so perfectly, so effortlessly. Is it any wonder we as mothers can burn out? Get post natal depression? Get stressed? Become ill? Forget sometimes to just take a moment to just be? Forget what makes us shine? dare to be you as you are - an honest version of you. Spend whole days just enjoying your baby, your kids, your partner. Open up to the mothers around you; swap ideas or tips. There’s immense strength and growth in sharing.- Rebecca Mugridge, Award Winning Author,www.AuthorRebeccaMugridge.blogspot.com

dare TO DREAM. In 1999 life was good, but I wanted more. A few months into the year, things changed dramatically with 42 people being made redundant in my organization. I was 47 years old, and I wondered what would lay ahead for me. A few months later, my saved pension arrived: $38,000 after 9 years of contributions. What was I supposed to do with such a measly sum? I’d been researching property and decided this could be a good time to get started. We invested in QLD in October 1999, and I haven’t looked back. My dream was to see us in a better financial situation, set up correctly for our future. After wise investing over the next 8 years, it was done! Stay focussed, and set something - anything - in place to help you get to where you want to be. It’s OK to dream, so I dare you to dream out loud often - and then celebrate your successes. - Robyn Atkins, Inspirational People in Property,www.ipip.com.au

Why is it that so few achievewhat so many want?Access to food, clothing and shelter often means we take them for granted. And then we expect more – a flash house, a fancy car, gourmet food. This is called ‘comfort’.

It is often said, “The enemy of a great life is a good life.” The majority of highly successful, financially free people have stories of how they started from scratch, or how they landed in a country with nothing, or how they overcame a disability. These people learn not just how to survive, but how to thrive. And they keep moving towards their dream.

Because we are so comfortable, we tend to put off going for the dream. ‘Comfort or Dream’ – it is your choice.

We all have the ability and opportunity to do something about the way we live. Often, we miss out on financial freedom because we believe we have to be realistic about our goals.

A lot of goal setting suggests you use the SMART system – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time.

Having a specific goal is great. And it should be measurable – after all, how do you know if you have achieved it if you have no measure of what it looks like to have arrived? And, it is great to have a timeframe in which to achieve the goal.

But achievable and realistic?Richard Branson, Donald Trump and Bill Gates missed that memo!

As did Einstein, the Wright Brothers, Henry Ford, Mother Theresa and many others who have changed the way they lived, and the way we and others live, forever.

Imagine, just for a moment, that you are the Wright Brothers. Can you hear the ‘chatter’ … “Fly? Like a bird? You have to be kidding. You’re out of your mind. You’ll never do that. Get a life – get a job. Go earn some money. Stop wasting your time.”

Was it realistic to believe that you could fly when Orville and Wilbur Wright dreamt about it? Was it achievable? Yes it was, but most of the world would have said it was not.

The bigger the dream, the bigger the opportunity, the bigger the results.

“One is not born but becomes a woman.”

This quote, ‘One is not born but becomes a woman’, is the one for which Simone Lucie-Ernestine-Marie Bertrand de Beauvoir is best known. Author of the 1949 feminist treatise ‘The Second Sex’,

Simone is known as ‘the mother of feminism’.

Simone was so much more than that, though. She was a philosopher, an intellectual, an author of metaphysical novels including ‘The Mandarins’ and ‘She Came to Stay’, a writer of essays and monographs, an activist and a rebel. Along with Jean-Paul Sartre, her lover for 51 years, she co-defined the concept of existentialism. Her insistence on living an honest

life, free from the constraints of societal prejudices and control, was the basis of all the ideas she expressed in her writing.

“I tore myself away from the safe comfort of certainties through my love for truth – and truth rewarded me”, Simone said. She refused to follow the expectations of the times for women to marry, bear children and obey their husbands; she never apologized for who she was or what she believed in; she happily lived her life as she wanted to, putting into practice the existentialist concepts of individual freedom and responsibility of choice.

We can all learn something from Simone’s choices in life – how important it is to live by your own beliefs rather than that of your society, how to be free, how to be truthful. Let us all dare to grant Simone her wish “that every human life might be pure transparent freedom”.

HER STORYSimone was born into a society and time, France in the early 1900’s, which would make modern feminists shudder. Girls were educated to a certain level, but their primary duties

were to marry well, bear children and live submissively to their husbands. Simone’s bourgeois family lost their fortunes when Simone was still young. In her eyes, to the chagrin of her father, this left her free to pursue her education as her family could not offer the financial security to attract an acceptable suitor.

Simone was awarded her baccalauréate in 1925. She began studying at the Sorbonne in 1926 and completed her ‘certificate of letters’ in 1927. In 1929 she attended classes at the École Normale Supérieure, an élite graduate school, to prepare for her agrégation in philosophy. Her father

was outraged, telling Simone that her intelligence made her think like a man, making her tainted goods, and that her higher education would only cause distress and problems in her life.

Nonetheless, Simone carried on. At age 21 she became the youngest person ever to be awarded the

agrégation, coming second in the exam to only one other person, Jean-Paul Sartre.

Simone and Jean-Paul became lovers, editors of each others’ works and co-founders of Les Temps modernes – a monthly review which became the foundation of the intellectual community at the time. They never married or lived together, Simone vowing never to become caged

into marriage or to submit to being a housewife, but they enjoyed a loving ‘open’ relationship until Jean-Paul’s death.

Simone taught at a number of schools before giving it up for full-time

writing. Many of her books were autobiographical, and in fact, ‘The Second Sex’ began as a reflection of herself as a woman. As she wrote it, she realised that being a woman was a reaction to a masculine world, and she abandoned her personal story to focus on the feminine condition in general. Famously, she wrote, “Women should not strive to be like men, they are not

men and need to be seen as separate but equal human beings. Until this mentality is changed women will never be seen as equal.” This statement became a cornerstone of the modern feminist movement.

Simone died of pneumonia on April 14th 1986. Five days later, 6 years to the day after the death of Jean-Paul, she was buried next to him. “Our relationship”, she had said, “was the greatest achievement of my life”.

HER LEGACYSimone’s pioneering thinking transformed the way the world thinks about gender and identity. Her concepts of ‘becoming’ rather than ‘being born’ a woman and of women as the ‘Other’ are even today amongst the most influential ideas of feminist inquiry and debate.

Her legacy is deeper than that, though. Simone advocated that every human deserves to have basic freedoms and the right to live their life as they want – not as society deems appropriate. She showed us that a person can live honestly, adhering to their own beliefs, and still find success, love and happiness.

Creativity and solutions come to you in the pauses - those still moments when you connect with your imagination and clarity nestles throughout your core being. Yet, in this rapid paced

world, it often seems impossible to slow down enough to let these powerful reflections settle.

Off you race to the next ‘emergency’...

• an important team meeting• dropping off the kids• whizzing through the grocery store• throwing together a meal

...only to feel physically and emotionally exhausted when you finally do stop for the day.

I’ve always been ‘fast’. As a child, I represented my school in sprinting. I walk, talk and think fast. For many years I wore this badge of speed as a proud accolade; after all, I’d accomplish more in a day than many people achieve in a week. However, fast paced thinking, living and

being eventually becomes unsustainably draining.

As a way to uncover peace and stillness, I’ve frequently dabbled in meditation. Always, after several days, my mind would once again forge ahead at break-neck speed. So, this month’s dare challenge is all about embracing Growth Through Stillness.

Throughout the April dare challenge, Kathy will be walking us through the process of finding stillness through meditation. Following a recent death in my family, the compelling urge to slow down my life and inject stillness into my every day has never felt more relevant.

Eckhart Tolle sums up the importance of stillness perfectly...

“If we connect to the stillness within, we move beyond our active minds and emotions and discover great depths of lasting peace, contentment and serenity.”

So, let’s get started growing together through stillness.

Meditation through the eyes of this month’s dare challenge expert Kathy Wilson, founder of MyDiamondDays.com

Many people start meditation with great, lofty ambitions of ‘taming their mind’ and ‘cracking peace’. However, the

harder you force it, the more you timetable it and the more definite you are about it, the less likely meditation will work for you.

It’s not an original thought to say we are all dealing today with crazy amounts of stimulation. Just about everyone is under enormous stress caused by the huge sensory overload of mobiles, internet, computers and money. Most people rarely sit still, and many have lost the ability to still their mind. Very often there is some turning point that makes people take stock and seek out meditation; sometimes it is a death or ill health.

I started www.MyDiamondDays.com because I REALLY needed more stillness. I found a great teacher and did a mindfulness course, but then the world got in the way and I never developed a habit. When I went online to find out more, I became overwhelmed by choice. I wanted some way to test out many different styles of meditation - with music, without music, with different voices but without searching out individual teachers. I couldn’t find what I was looking for, so I created it myself.

If you run any type of business, you know the importance of marketing. There are the traditional avenues of radio, television, newsprint and internet. I’m about to reveal another, almost untapped, marketing strategy called podcasting.

WHAT IS PODCASTING? Think of podcasting as a radio show that can be downloaded from the internet to your computer or mobile device, on demand, from almost anywhere on Earth. People can download podcasts for free and listen to them whenever it’s convenient for them, from their computer, MP3 player, mobile phone or tablet.

I mentioned podcasts as a form of marketing...so why would people seek out ‘advertising’ on purpose? Because podcast listeners do not perceive your sharing of valuable information as advertising. If you podcast correctly, you’ll be providing listeners with fun, informative content as well as providing solutions to

their wants, needs and problems. For instance, I am a business coach,

and I offer products and services that help business owners succeed in business. I have a podcast called ‘Red Tent Radio’ in which I interview successful business owners and broadcast their tips for success. I also present my own segment in which I offer coaching tips and

answers to common business issues. My target audience seeks out my show because I offer something they are looking for. In the process, they come to see me as an expert, get to know me and come to trust me.

Think about the newscaster you watch regularly. You eventually form a bond that is associated with

A podcast can produce a sense of community. Not all businesses can say their customers feel like they have a connection to their company.

that person. If you were to meet them face to face, you would probably feel like you knew them and that you trusted them. If this person mentioned a product, you would probably listen to their suggestion and be more open to using it. This is a common reaction which we can use to our advantage.

Even if you don’t have

products that translate to a global market, you can still gain revenue through affiliate sales by directing people to companies with products that complement the genre of your show. There are companies which will give you a commission for referrals. This is called affiliate marketing.

anything you wouldn’t use yourself - doing so will quickly damage your reputation and credibility. The rule of thumb for successful affiliate sales is to never break your listeners’ trust.

HOW LUCRATIVE CAN PRODUCINGA PODCAST BE?My show comes out every week on iTunes, on my website and on a radio station in the United States. Up to 4,000 people tune in to each episode. These people are targeted. They are listening because they are looking for business advice and solutions, and my show offers that. A podcast can produce a sense of community. Not all businesses can say their customers feel like they have

a connection to their company. In addition to attracting customers, my show gives me access to people who I might never have come into contact with.

HOW MUCH WORK AND INVESTMENT IS INVOLVED?The answer to that question all depends on YOU and what you aim to achieve from the show. Some people

completely produce their shows by themselves, while other people outsource most of the work.

Once you open up your mind to the possibilities,

those possibilities can be almost endless.

Emma Hack’s work is an intriguing combination of painting on canvas and body together with studio-based photography. It evokes a rich array of visual narrative and magical realism.  Emma’s recent collaboration on Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ music video has seen her profile skyrocket across the globe with the chart receiving over 100 million hits on YouTube.

Emma began exploring the notion of camouflage by drawing inspiration from the iconic model Veruschka who, in the 1960s and 70s, painted herself into rustic walls and naturalistic settings. Emma’s first wallpaper camouflage took 19 hours to paint, and her

more recent works took between 8-15 hours, depending on the complexity of the design. It is an exhausting process for artist and subject alike; however, the results are nothing short of spectacular.

In the Wallpaper Mandala Collection, Emma has painstakingly camouflaged the human form into combined wallpaper designs, creating a circular mandala collaged background into which her muse is artfully blended. Emma’s Birds of Prey Collection comprises the same technique and includes the use of live Australian birds: an owl, a Wedge-tailed Eagle and a Peregrine Falcon.

Are you a high achiever who is always trying to be perfect? Are you living in the land of ‘should’ - I ‘should’ be smarter, thinner, more organised, beautiful or a better person? When you’re not, are you riddled with guilt?

dare you

These are some of the signs of Superwoman Syndrome, and if you can relate to them, it’s time to change.

Since the advent of Women’s Lib and the demand for equality, women have strived to achieve at work so they can prove their worth

and be taken seriously within the workplace. Yet, we are still expected to be perfect homemakers, too.

The 21st century superwoman has to look gorgeous, have a hot body even after having kids, manage a high flying career, run a smooth household, raise high achieving and well-adjusted kids, be a great friend, daughter and hot, sexy, passionate lover.

In reality, having it all comes at a high cost to your health, relationships, peace of mind and quality of life.

“You don’t have to be a ‘superwoman’ in order to be successful. When you become empowered from within you are super… being a woman.”

1FIND YOUR POWERMost of us developed

Superwoman Syndrome because we wanted to be successful and powerful enough to direct our own lives. But power doesn’t come from being the best at everything. True power means that you can say ’no‘ and feel comfortable about it.

You need to kick the ‘yes’ habit. The first time you say ’no‘ you’ll feel guilty, but instead of focusing on what you’re not doing, focus on what you are doing. You are becoming empowered from within, and that’s what will let you direct your life.

2CHANGE THE BELIEFS THATHOLD YOU BACK

Everyone has an internal belief system that drives them, although not many actually know what it is. What beliefs do you hold that make you think you have to be Superwoman? What was it that made you believe that ‘perfect’ is the only choice?

If you can tap into your belief system and discover some of your limiting beliefs, you can start to overcome them and create more rational beliefs to live by.

3GATHER YOUR SUPPORT TEAM.Women think they have to

do everything, and they don’t like inconveniencing others by asking for help. Yet, women are naturally giving, inclusive, supportive, and go out of their way to be of service to others. Surround yourself with these women, because they understand what you need. Your network will be an important tool in the fight against Superwoman Syndrome. It will support you, challenge your thinking, push you out of your comfort zone and help you to grow.

Banish the ‘shoulds’ and the ideal of perfection, because all they do is add

stress to your life while removing your choices. Your super power is within you. It might not look like you thought it would, but it’s there and it’s strong. All you need to do is to learn to use it well.

Ever since I can remember, I have always been inspired by the Warrior Path, and it has been this drive that has seen all aspects of my success in the world.

Let me first qualify what a Warrior is and, importantly, what it is not. A ‘Soldier’s’ energy is very male in concept; it seeks to overcome and conquer externally. A ‘Warrior’; however, by definition is an internalised power - feminine in form as it seeks to serve and protect all that is of value for the civilisation he or she represents. Should anyone doubt the power of the feminine to apply this energy, just get between a woman and her child and one will find it out to their peril.

Having faced true fear on many occasions, I have been fascinated with the concept of courage and our ability to transcend our personal fears in placing ourselves voluntarily in harm’s way out of compassion

for others. Such is the reason that courage was defined by Sir Winston Churchill as the ‘first of all human qualities as it guarantees all of the others’! My own family motto is ‘San Peur’ or ‘Fearless’. When an individual is courageous

or fearless, many of the challenges they face melt away as a consequence.

My work with refugees and victims of torture saw the cruellest of human actions. It was this that initiated my exit from Army Intelligence and my path towards inspiring others to take positive action to enhance their lives. I embarked on my spiritual journey,

taking groups of like minded seekers to explore personal mastery in all the sacred sites of the world.

SHIFT HAPPENS!As we move towards a natural shift in consciousness and awareness, my time for communicating on a bigger stage has come.

My first book, Who Dares for Success, came to me in almost magical form one night. It illustrates over 70 principles used by elite Warriors to attain success in all aspects of life. Each of those 70 principles begins with the letter ‘C’!

My second book, Courage Conquers All Things, only took me a month to write. It’s a digest of the many articles I’ve written for personal development magazines over the years, and it is interspersed with allegories and stories I tell on stage during my live performances. It is, in truth, a toolbox for personal enhancement.

My new thought changing book and first novel, The Order of the Nephilim, reveals what’s truly happening in the world. This conspiracy blockbuster has been acclaimed as ‘the Da Vinci Code on steroids’! I’m currently in negotiations to make this a Hollywood film.

I have always wanted to 'leave my footprints in the sand'. In Australia, it's the law to lodge a published book with the National Library of Australia to be kept 'in perpetuo' or forever. This is the most incredible honour about being an author. For many, it's often the only way to experience your words, deeds and actions becoming immortalised other than by the onward lives of your children. Both are loved as soon as they are conceived and are positive examples of that part of yourself that endures beyond your finite life.

I believe that the magic of our existence is the

difference that makes a difference in this world. We all have an integral part to play, and when we play it with truth, authenticity, courage and honor, we have a life worth living. Be bold and glorious in all that you do, and BE the Difference!

Public speaking. It strikes terror in the hearts of many and in numerous surveys has ranked higher than death as one of our greatest fears! While for some, the thought of speaking in front of a group can make their palms start to sweat and their heart skip a beat, public speaking can be a fantastic communication skill. If done correctly, public speaking can be an effective and powerful way for small business owners to get their message out to clients and, most importantly, it can boost their confidence and skill in their-day to-day communication.

The Art of

With Carren Smith

Page 50: DARE Magazine Issue 06 April 2012

Public speaking is more than speaking on a stage in front of an audience and more than a speech at your best friend’s wedding. Imagine

having confidence and clarity in your message when speaking to your staff, your colleagues or your clients.

The measurable outcomes include increased productivity performance, profitability, sustainability and, of course, passion - all crucial components of a successful business strategy.

So, when you look at public speaking like that, it sounds like a fear worth conquering, doesn’t it?

The methods for being an effective public speaker are the same for presenting to a stadium of people as to a boardroom of people. Following are my top tips on MASTERING the art of public speaking:

Know your audience: Before any presentation, identify the unique needs of your listeners so you can tailor your message specifically to them.

Get real: Don’t just pretend to understand what your listeners want; really understand why. Being genuine

and real in your presentation is even more important than its content and will see you win, time and time again.

Make a connection: Work with your listeners. Build a bond and form trust. Speak their language and know what wakes them up at night. Make sure they know you ‘see’ them and you ‘get’ them.

Tell the truth: Speak your truth! Your relationships will be stronger and your message more potent once it is understood

that what you have to say (even the bad stuff) is authentic and congruent.

And lastly, practice, practice, practice!

Your ability to communicate your message, yourself and your value to the market is one of the greatest assets you can possess. Learning to be authentic, credible and at ease in front of an audience, large or small, is a vital component of a marketing strategy, ensuring long term relationships, niche communication and extraordinary results.

In small business in particular, your ability to be authentic in your

communication can be your most valuable tool and will keep your customers returning.

Exceptional presentation and speaking skills are your number one asset when it comes to obtaining a competitive edge in today’s economy. You’ll be certain to stand out from the crowd with public speaking strategies that influence attitudes and outcomes while creating profitability and increased market share!

It’s time to step outside your comfort zone and

find your voice...I dare you!

WHAT IS WEALTH?

The

Wealth Boomerang Show kicked off in New York

last month, interviewing wise and wealthy guests from diverse backgrounds across the globe. Featuring co-hosts from New York, Milwaukee and Brisbane, the show may be the world’s first to have its interview panel in two countries and three time zones.

Is this a show about money? Well, yes and no. The real question is, “what does wealth mean, to you?”

If you’re short on cash, additional money may give you a feeling of wealth. If you have millions of dollars, you may desire additional time to spend with your loved ones. An

elderly billionaire may

possibly be happy to trade millions for more years of life or

give all his money for good health. Some people may want a deeper or more fulfilling spiritual connection. We define wealth as ‘anything you value’. Whatever thing you value most, that is what we want for your life.

WHAT IS A BOOMERANG?You may have seen boomerangs on TV or in cartoons. A curved throwing stick, the boomerang has been used for thousands of years by Australian Aboriginals for hunting and sport. If you throw it correctly, a returning boomerang will come back to you;

however, if thrown poorly, you may lose it forever.

We believe that whatever you value is wealth to you, and we believe

that, just like a

boomerang, whatever you send out will come back to you.

Each week, we speak to people who have operated their wealth

boomerangs correctly. They may have boomeranged

back from tragedy to triumph or

boomeranged back from rags to riches. Either way, their stories will touch, move, inspire and instruct you on your journey.

One show featured a man who lost a fortune and then bounced back; another profiled a man who was born disabled and became an able-bodied sporting legend. Upcoming guests include dare founder and publisher - the dynamic Tania Usher (boomeranging

back from tragedy to terrific), Rachael Bermingham (boomeranging back from near bankrupt to 8-time best-selling author), a once-bankrupt recovering millionaire and many more inspiring individuals who share personal stories of human strength and ingenuity.

The Wealth Boomerang Show broadcasts live at 9pm Mondays, New York time (10pm Daylight time) and 12noon Tuesdays, Brisbane time. You can listen live online atwww.wealthboomerangshow.com. Your assets include many priceless components of your life - items you cherish and people you adore: your partner, children, family, dream home, luxury car...even a unique talent or a bargain purchase.

As much as I accept that these gifts deserve gratitude and are indeed valuable life assets, there’s one

MOST precious asset many people ignore. It’s your personal health and wellbeing.

Without it, all other areas of life suffer. Our physical, mental and spiritual health is something many people sadly take for granted

until something goes awry. When you feel well, there’s a tendency to ignore this vital component of your life, and unhealthy choices creep in.

While you know your body functions at its best when you consume fresh, living

meals, regular fast food is such a convenient option. Exercise boosts your energy level, but

you decide you’ll get started tomorrow – or the day after – when you’re not so busy. Maybe you pop a ‘quick-fix’ pill rather than uncovering the root cause of your headache.

D eath is a powerful reminder to live. When you spend time with someone during the last days and hours of their life you experience a potent urge to ponder the question “How will I reflect on my life on my deathbed?”

Will I feel complete in knowing that I’ve achieved all I had hoped?

The recent passing of a much loved father and grandfather in our family serves as an intense reminder of the importance to celebrate EVERY step of your life. Just because you’re breathing, doesn’t mean you’re ALIVE.

So I invite you to spend quiet time this month reflecting on your legacy. Get intimate with what you deeply desire. See yourself on your deathbed and have the courage to ask the the question “Was my life a success?” then answer honestly.

If the answer is “No” then make a commitment today to get VERY clear on what you want the rest of your life to be about. What life purpose you intend to follow. The relationships you’ll nurture. The intolerances you'll eliminate. The dreams you’ll create.

Ensure that everything you do from today takes you on a path that commands a resounding “YES” to the question “Was your life a success?”
