The Greater Region: An economic and entrepreneurial potential in the heart of Europe

The Greater Region represents a unique economic microcosm composed of the Lands of Rhineland Palatinate and Sarreland in Germany, the Walloon region in Belgium, the Lorraine region in France and, in its heart, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The geographic space extends over a total area of 65,400 sqms and accommodates more than 11.3 million inhabitants, 375,000 businesses, 15 universities and 220,000 students. Characterised by the regular flow of approx. 200,000 cross border workers and consumers, more than 132,000 thereof commuting to Luxembourg alone, the economy of the Greater Region is marked by a cosmopolitan population and represents a model for the EU. It is indeed the expression and illustration of a European market without borders, rich in cooperations and exchanges of all kinds. The Greater Region has a GDP of EUR 304.12 billion, which repre-sents approximately 2.5% of the European Union GDP.

With the the Chamber of Commerce of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg launches a new professional trade fair dedicated to SMEs and innovative start-ups of the Greater Region and beyond. This business meeting platform will aim to boom competitiveness, growth and economic development of businesses and will comprise a variety of events, meetings and b2b services that will surprise you and invite you to discuss “business” in unique ways.

The purpose of the event: enable participating companies to find potential partners while enhancing their visibility and extending their business relations to a qualified audience of key actors, important decision makers, buyers, business leaders, project managers, SME / SMI and innovative start-ups.

The event will take place on 13th & 14th June 2012 at the Exhibition and Congress Center Luxexpo and will encompass a wide range of activities in line with the flagship sectors of the different neighbouring regions involved. The trade fair is organised in cooperation with Luxexpo & MLG Events.
