2.3 Marking materials

The mp-LM 1 laser marking system was specially designed for the marking of Murrplastik materials. These include the following materials: - Murrplastik polycarbonate label plates (PC) - Murrplastik stainless steel label plates - Murrplastik anodised aluminium label plates - Murrplastik polypropylene label plates (PP) - Murrplastik laser foils (external exhaust/ filtering needed) The materials listed here have been thoroughly tested for emissions and suitability for marking. All materials have proven superior marking quality.

Always ensure you use original Murrplastik materials to safeguard the health of your employees and to achieve the best possible marking results!

Never use the mp-LM 1 laser marking system to label materials made from wood, paper, PVC or any transparent or flammable materials.

2.4 Extraction of emitted vapours and particulates

The mp-LM 1 laser marking system is primarily intended for use in marking plastic plates made from polycarbonate (PC) and polypropylene (PP). The procedure used to generate contrast is a colour change (carbonisation). In a special test conducted by TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH and documented in Report No. 3013523, titled "Determination and evaluation of the danger from inhalation exposure to a laser marking system", the following result was recorded with regards to the dangers from harmful particulates and vapours: "As is clear from the VOC test results, the values for substances that have been assigned a threshold value or recommended threshold value were significantly lower than these thresholds. We can therefore state that no further measures need to be taken as regards pollution issues. Since readings were taken from exhaust air, they represent a 'worst-case' test result." Nevertheless, on account of the strong odours that the machine can produce, we recommended scrubbing the exhaust air or routing it outside (observing statutory provisions) as a precautionary measure. An external extraction system can be connected using an adapter. You can connect either an extraction tube or an external extraction unit. The extraction tube needed is included in the delivery scope. Place the mp-LM 1 laser marking system in a place that can be well-ventilated.

Using the unit to label materials not listed under Item 2.3 can lead to the production of harmful and/or pollutant exhaust fumes. To ensure the well-being of you and your employees, label only the Murrplastik materials as specified.
