Participate in campus leadership on the Academic Leadership Council and Chancellor’s Council and CAHNRS leadership in the Chairs and Directors meetings.

o Reviewed and ranked annual campus budget requests o Served as communication liaison between Campus and CAHNRS senior leadership

and Vancouver faculty and staff o Contributed to evidence informed decision making o Represented Academic Directors on the search committee for the Associate Vice

Chancellor of Research and Graduate Programs o Supported major campus initiatives such as strategic planning, course schedule

revisions, budget reallocation, and student success initiative

Supervise the Child Development program (three classrooms serving 3-5 year olds). o Converted the kindergarten classroom into a preschool classroom using shared

governance approach o Initiated the natural playscape development project, secured funding for design and

completion of phase 1 o Led the restructuring of teaching assignments and job descriptions to align with

Washington guidelines and increase program fiscal stability o Honored teachers and staff for receiving the first Washington Department of Early

Learning Early Achievers ranking of 5 out of 5 in its program category Research Interests

My area of prevention research focuses broadly on the well-being of young children within the family and early learning and care contexts. I conduct translational studies that involve promoting healthy weight trajectories to reduce childhood obesity and minimizing the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) through trauma-informed practices in non-clinical settings.
