Deval, Partner and Co-founder at Dasra has provided philanthropists with intelligent investment strategies directing over $30 million into the Indian social sector over the past 13 years.

He has an impressive track record of scaling and sustaining non profit organizations and social businesses including Magic Bus, Aangan Trust, Muktangan and Educate Girls impacting over 1 million lives.

His experience in the social sector enabled Deval to play a vital role in the inception of the Times of India Social-Impact Awards 2011. He is engaged with both philanthropists and social entrepreneurs and has spoken about this unique investment model at leading events such as the Global Philanthropy Forum, Unconvention, Maidan Summit, SOCAP, CSR-CSO Bridge and ICICI Fellows Programme.

Deval's background as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley has equipped him to develop a unique philanthropic investment model that brings rigor and discipline to the sector. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, completing his Bachelor of Business Administration with a dual Honors degree in Business and Finance and a minor in Asian Studies.

• The Kiawah Trust is a U.K. family foundation that exists to improve the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable young people.

• Dasra’s research report Owning Her Future, funded by the Kiawah Trust, shows the root cause of maternal and child mortality is closely linked to the age of marriage and first pregnancy. This in turn is heavily influenced by level of schooling, livelihood options, access to clean drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene.
