b. My reflection:

The theme I chose to use was Paul Revere. The content area for this assignment is social studies

for 3rd grade students in the state of Georgia. Georgia Performance Standards that this covers is

SS3H2 (a-b) and SS3G2 (a-e). For me, the content curation tool, Blendspace, was much easier

to use. It was easy to download, add comments to, and maneuver around how I wanted them to

be listed. I did find that Listly was easy to curate the spots in the order I wanted, but I felt

Blendspace was just as easy to maneuver. Blendspace had different themes and templates to

choose from adding choice and individuality for the user whereas Listly did not. Another benefit

from Blendspace is that you can play it like a slideshow or print it with the notes you have added.

This makes it easy when using a Promethean Board. I liked the list view that Listly gave, but

overall, Blendspace was my favorite when it came to viewing. Because there is so much

information out there, teachers can sometimes feel bombarded, overwhelmed, and/or even

anxious when surfing the web. Using Blendspace can cut down on what is out there, and the

curator can filter through unwanted material and organize what he/she feels is more important in

terms of teaching. Teachers can use this tool when planning for any unit for any subject. This

Web 2.0 tool makes lesson plans better organized and developed while adding a bit of creativity

to it. Blendspace could also be used to differentiate with students. A teacher could list different

sources, and students could choose which one appealed to them. All-in-all, they both have

positives for them, but I found that I connected more to Blendspace more than Listly.
