Anthropologist have been trying for decades to come to aunified field of knowledge in the study of man. Our culturehas been defined by science or a set of rational beliefsbased on knowledge gained through the five sensesderiving at an objective truth from material evidence.

I believe it is impossible to define man without God. He isthe Creator and we are all inseparably linked to Him. Whatpostmodernist have come to realize is that in any culture itis those in power that set the tone for our culture. Theyintegrate their political idealisms as universal truth andbring a mandate on the less powerful. We cant buy intothis world set of standards based on those in power butembrace the words of Jesus when He said, All power is given to me, in heaven and in the earth.

One of my favorite movies is Trading Places, thescientific study of two old millionaires that a manwill rise or fall based on his environment. However this has said that nurture is the key to

all humanity instead of realizing that nature isthe issue. We must realize that man regardless ofclass, color or environment can have his heartchanged and become born-again, this man will

embrace the culture of heaven in spite of hisrace, education or wealth. Why? Because hisnature has been changed by the seed of God.

During the past few weeks we have been

ministering on how that culture has affected

the church. We are not speaking so much of

trends as they relate to dress, certain

vernacular or cultural commodities. We are

speaking in a much deeper realm. We are

speaking about the worldview of man as hesees the eternal plan of God unfold in this

    generation.

    Cultural Catastrophe Part 11

We are speaking of spirits that deceive and imitate the

spirit of God. If you are not in a biblical position

concerning your life in God, you open up the door forthese evil spirits to trouble you and which will

    eventually destroy you.

In the spiritual realm these are not easily identified,

our world is becoming increasingly aware of the

supernatural. They are seeking hope and help for their

lives and their future. The majority want it in thenow. Never in the history of man has humanity been

more open to that which we cant see, but know exists.

This is the basis of this series, to identify the factthat we are here now in reality, but that anotherreality exist which represents eternity. We areliving this exchanged life for eternity. This is the

opportunity of the church, to refuse the leaven ofthis system in waiting for the redemption of thebody. This power that has been given to usenables us to be over comers, and not just us but

to all those who will believe. We are at thecrossroads of the coming of Jesus, dont lookback, take just what you need, and Look untoJesus.

17 So Samuel said, When you were little in your own eyes, were you not

head of the tribes of Israel? And did not the LORD anoint you king over

Israel? 18 Now the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, Go, and utterly

destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are

consumed. 19 Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD? Why did

you swoop down on the spoil, and do evil in the sight of the LORD?

20 And Saul said to Samuel, But I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and

gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, and brought back Agag

king of Amalek; I have utterly destroyed the Amalekites. 21 But the people

took of the plunder, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should

have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.

    22 So Samuel said:

Has the LORD as greatdelight in burntofferings and sacrifices,

As in obeying the voice of the LORD?Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,

Andto heed than the fat of rams. 23 Forrebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,

And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.Because you have rejected the word of theLORD,

He also has rejected you from being king.

We are at the stubbornness stage of Sauls life,he has now elevated his sacrifice above Godsword.

When a person elevates their sacrifice overthe Word of God, then they open their life up

    to attack from the enemy.

In our generation this would be seen asopening up the realm of the soul, or what isconsidered your mind, will and emotions.

1 Samuel 16:14But the Spirit of the LORD departed

from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORDtroubled him.

Bitterness and Resentment now characterize Saul

How does a person know when the spirit of theLord departs and then what are the

    consequences of that condition?

No willingness to change but gratified bychurch life and being around the presence ofGod..

1 Samuel 16:23 (King James Version)

23And it came to pass, when the evil spiritfrom God was upon Saul, that David took an

harp, and played with his hand: so Saul wasrefreshed, and was well, and the evil spiritdeparted from him.

1 Samuel 18:10-12 (King James Version)

10And it came to pass on the morrow, that theevil spirit from God came upon Saul, and heprophesied in the midst of the house: and Davidplayed with his hand, as at other times: and therewas a javelin in Saul's hand.

11And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I willsmite David even to the wall with it. And David

avoided out of his presence twice.

12And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORDwas with him, and was departed from Saul.

The Spirit of Destruction permeates from the bitterness andresentment

You see in order to live within ourselves our culture has inundatedthe church with a sociological release valve, that is instead ofrepenting, we turn to blaming someone for our circumstances and

    behavior 1 Samuel 18

25And Saul said, Thus shall ye say to David, The king desireth not anydowry, but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged ofthe king's enemies. But Saul thought to make David fall by the handof the Philistines.

    1 Samuel 19

1And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, thatthey should kill David.

    Cultural Catastrophe Part 11

I have never in my tenure as a Pastor and as a

believer seen the vindictive, destructive and self-

serving evil in the lives of people. The extent that theywill go to is past my understanding. We are talking

about the attitudes, actions of those who are supposedto love Jesus. We are truly the only culture in the worldthat kills our wounded and rejoice at demise, some act

as if we want people to go to Hell and be lost.

We have lost touch with our cultural heritage as it isportrayed in the New Testament and more tragic, we

have lost touch with the King of this kingdom.

    Obsession but no Passion

1 Samuel 24:16-20 (King James Version)

16And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speakingthese words unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my sonDavid? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.

17And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thouhast rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.

18And thou hast shewed this day how that thou hast dealt well withme: forasmuch as when the LORD had delivered me into thinehand, thou killedst me not.

    19

For if a man find his enemy, will he let him go well away?wherefore the LORD reward thee good for that thou hast done untome this day.

20And now, behold, I know well that thou shalt surely be king, andthat the kingdom of Israel shall be established in thine hand.

No passion brings no presence, this will result in amanufacturing or a likeness of the presence of

God. You will start seeking feelings and emotions

that simulate the presence of God, hencewitchcraft. The enemy will create environments

    and feelings that seem spiritual.

Witchcraft opens one up to the demonic realm.

The goal is to control circumstances, situationsand people. The awareness ranges from beingignorant of the reality to a participation.

1 Samuel 28:6-8 (King James Version)

6And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answeredhim not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

7Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that

hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire ofher. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a womanthat hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

8And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, andhe went, and two men with him, and they came to the

woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me bythe familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall nameunto thee

We ask does witchcraft operate inside the church ?The answer is yes. It operates inside of the realm of thereasoning, feelings, and emotions of people. Becauseof the susceptibility of our generation to the

supernatural people are hungry for anything thatresembles God or the unknown. God is changing thechurch by measure, our lack of power is due to theorigin of our actions. The soul doesnt have the powerto truly impact lives, it can only imitate the true power

of God. It can create emotions, and even direct our willby that emotion but can never give what we need totransform the church.

This hasnt happened overnight, it has been bredinto generations of believers by the devil.

We have tried almost everything to make it easier

for people to serve God. From user friendly tonon confrontational methods. We have changedtimes, liturgy and promoted a feel good

mentality. We are promising wealth, freedom,

and power carelessly and without anycommitment involved, I tell you it has been arecipe for disaster.

When the devil cant get a generation to blatantly

disobey, he will try and breed it into them.

    Revelation 2:14 (King James Version)

14But I have a few things against thee, because

thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of

Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a

stumblingblock before the children of Israel, toeat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit

    fornication.

11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of

disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and

powerful, and sharper than any two-edgedsword, piercing even to the division of soul and

spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a

discerner of the thoughts and intents of the

    heart.13

And there is no creature hidden from Hissight, but all things are naked and open to theeyes of Him to whom we must give account.

God has set up a safe guard against thiscultural catastrophe of sacrifice instead ofobedience. He has said that regardless of

how you feel or what your emotionsindicate, it must align with the Word of God.

If you fall into disobedience, dont become

stubborn, but submit and repent. If you fail todo so you will open yourself up to another

doctrine which is not His doctrine.

In order to continue in the spiritual life you willhave to continue to perform. The devil will feed

your soul with ideas, thoughts and opinions that

are from this system. We pass them on inside ofchurch life and before we know it we are changed

by the very nature of what we believe.

Much of what has happened in the past 40 years

has been soulical and demonic in origin. How canI say that, because much of it is contrary to acorrect interpretation of the scripture.

Saul was killed by a young Amalekite in the

historical account of 2 Samuel. That which he

refused to obey in eventually cost him his life.

Many are hearing voices, seeing things and

feeling things but if our obedience isnt primary

they are illusions of what we once knew and felt .Obedience will always be better than sacrifice,

and serving God does COST SOMETHING

    Cultural Catastrophe Part 11

I believe this is a major part of what the Word calls themystery of iniquity, it is the confusion of disobedience tothe Word of God inside the church combined with anothergospel. It is not easily understood, the catastrophe lay inthe fact that prophetically the dye has been cast.

9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the workingof Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

10 and with all unrighteous deception among those whoperish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God willsend them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe thetruth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

28And even as they did not like to retain God

in their knowledge, God gave them over to a

reprobate mind, to do those things which arenot convenient.

We are not talking about someone or an idea

that has evil written across the forehead it isin the church and spiritual realm that this

deception is coming and is now here.

The cure and the explanation for this spiritual

can be explained and defined inside of the

This confusion permeates our culture and can

And I heard another voice from heaven saying,

Come out of her, my people, lest you share in

    Psalm 1

1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of thescornful.

2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he

    meditate day and night.

3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, thatbringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither;and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
