cover layout/photoshop
TRANSCRIPT
According to my flat plan, I first made the graphics which I used to put
on my front cover. On my flat plan, I put number on each separate
object in order to make it easier for me to use layers on Photoshop as it
allowed me to move quickly, having more time to make changes.
Before pasting my graphics onto Photoshop, I created them on
PowerPoint as it was easier in terms of making them and moving them
as layers on Photoshop.
These are the result graphics
which I used on my final cover.
Each graphic was placed on a
separate layer.
Using my prop list, I chose as
image which was a medium
shot, this was the best option
as this image was the most
representable in comparison
to R&B magazines. I also
decided form my previous
research into other R&B
magazines that the
background should be a
colour which isn't too eye
catching but just enough to
blend with the colour scheme
and contrast the artists to
make them stand out further.
Although I later realise this
wasn’t the best option for my
magazine as I will share further
during the process.
Same as the graphics, I created the
gradient fill background on
PowerPoint as I Found it much easier
seeing as I had more experience on
the software.
My next step was
planning the masthead
as in my audience
research, this was the
second thing which my
audience said would
attract them most to
magazine, (first being
the artist). During this
whole process, I have
ordered my layout in
order of importance
according to my
research results. I will
also later show the
process of which I
followed to choose this
font for my masthead.
Here I took a
screenshot of the
options for my
masthead, I did
this as I wanted to
see if there were
any better options
which would
make my cover
more appropriate
for my genre of
music but as we
can see here, the
colour I chose
blended in too
much with the
background
leaving my cover
not at its best
potential at this
stage.
