3D X-ray vision through drill core for enhanced mineral mapping

➢ Data-rich block models providing information for mining, metallurgical

and environmental considerations.

➢ Speed to geological insights

➢ Focus on geological interpretation rather than on data collection

➢ Better informed decision making

Loading station

Drill cores are picked from the core tray and placed on the loading

table. Check core orientation if applicable.

Sample holder

The drill core is slided into the sample holder using a bowl shaped

half pipe. Turn 180 degrees or stand the holder up and remove the

loading tool. Place the lid on top and align market with orientation.

Loading the machine

Put a drill core in the GeoCore X10, enter from and to depth and

press a button. No more core cutting, pulverizing, sample

preparation and lab processing delays.

examples

➢ Digital high resolution structural core logging

➢ Quick and non-destructive Identification of geotechnical features

➢ Data enhanced 3D Geo modelling

“It was particularly interesting to see how measured structures in the oriented drill cores could be imported into Leapfrog and aligned with the global coordinate system. Another key finding and next step, is to incorporate the produced density model to the monthly reconciliation process comparing mine and mill output.”

In 1995 Ragnar Kullenberg, associate professor, met the entrepreneurial geotechnical engineer Anders Ullberg.

“We are measuring the heavy metals in the human body, couldn’t this method

be applied in the mining industry?”
