About Us The mission of Mehlville School District Community Enrichment is to provide engaging, educationally sound and fiscally responsible learning opportunities to our district community. Inclement Weather Community Enrichment follows the Mehlville School District inclement weather closure policy. When Mehlville schools are closed, activities are also canceled. In cases where school and classes are open, parents are always welcome to choose whether to bring their student to class. Please check the Community Enrichment website and follow Community Enrichment on Facebook for current updates.

Online Registration Community Enrichment uses RevTrak for all online registrations. First-time users will need to create a RevTrak account. Cancellations, Refunds There will be no refunds 7 business days prior to the start of class or after, unless the individual experiences a medical problem that prohibits participation. If a medical issue arises, upon presentation of proper documentation, the refund amount will be prorated based on the number of sessions attended, less any supplies/fees. Cancellations prior to 7 business will receive a refund unless otherwise noted on the program description, minus any supplies/fee. Mehlville Community Enrichment reserves the right to cancel a program, in which case full refunds will be issued to all participants.

Art Time (Grades 1-6) Students will create a variety of paintings and drawings with an experienced art teacher. Classes are held at Oakville High School from 4:30 PM until 6 PM. Please refer to the registra-tion portal for the supply list. $40 Chess (Grades K-12) Interactive lessons that are followed by casual and competitive chess games. Morning classes only. See registration portal for specific locations, dates and times. $125 Jewelry Creations (Grades K-5) Learn the basics of jewelry making while working with beads, charms, metal stamping, Shrinky Dinks and more! Materials will be provided. See registration portal for specific locations, dates and times. $90 Scratch Coding for Kids (Grades K-5) In this course, your child will learn how to create stories, games and animations. Scratch helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively - essential skills for life in the 21st century. MOSAIC Elementary. See registration portal for dates and times. $50 Spanish for Kids (Grades K-5) Children will learn practical vocabulary, correct pronunciation and the basic sentence structure necessary to understand and use the Spanish language. No prior Spanish ex-perience required. See registration portal for specific locations, dates and times. $30 Strings (Grades 3-5) Mehlville School District will offer a fall strings program at several of our elemen-tary schools. 10% discount with district employee I.D. Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification (Ages 14 & up) A blended learning course including an online por-tion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a digital cer-tificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. See registration portal for location, dates and times. $100 Fundamentals of Drawing (Ages 18 & up) This class is designed to teach participants to "see" as an artist sees in order to improve drawing skills. Focus will be on using different types of lines/line quali-ties for drawing objects, learning to understand value and shadows to create dimension/3D image, and composition. All skill levels are welcome! Supplies required. See registration portal for more info. $150 Fundamentals of Watercolor (Ages 18 & up) Students will learn the basics of watercolor painting, in-cluding but not limited to: how to choose quality supplies, fundamental color theory, the importance of composition and pushing light and dark value contrast, understanding how to balance the amount of water with pigment to achieve desired results, how to layer color as well as working loose with "blooms". Themes will include simple still life objects as well as organic subject matter (ex. flowers). No prior watercolor painting experience necessary. All levels welcome. Supplies required. Learn simple and effective strategies developed from research & profession-al experience. February 12 & 19. 6 PM - 7:30 PM at OHS. $40

Winter/Spring 2020 will offer four sessions of Driver's Education. Each session will meet for three (3) weeks, Monday through Thursday, from 3:30 PM to 6 PM. Some evening and weekend driving may be requested by instructors. All classes take place at the Witzel Learning Center on the Mehlville High School Campus. Please enter through Door 5 (west side of the building) and proceed to the Driver's Ed Classroom (Room 1) This class will adhere to the requirements set forth by the State of Missouri including: classroom time, 12 hours of simulation and 3 hours of behind-the-wheel drive time. It is strongly recommended that students obtain their state driving permit prior to the start of class. Please note that there are NO REFUNDS after class begins, for failure to certify or for unsuccessful completion. Refunds will only be considered for medical emergencies and must be submitted in writing. The fee for Driver’s Education is $265 for district residents and $290 for non-residents. 10% discount with district employee I.D. Session 1: January 6 - 27 Session 2: February 3 - 24 Session 3: March 23 - April 9 Session 4: April 20 - May 7

Coached Lap Swim (all ages with tryout) A coach/monitor will be present at each session with a pre-pared workout on the board. The workouts can be adjusted up or down depending on age and ability. Approx. 2 meets per session. 10% discount with district employee I.D. See pool supervisor for more de-tails. $125 Kayak: Intro To Whitewater Kayaking (Ages 15 & up) This is the perfect way to get started in white-water kayaking. You will begin building fundamental skills indoors, in a warm pool. Skills include strokes, braces, and the roll, plus blending strokes for river maneuvers. Discussion will cover safety, gear, river running, and more. For dates and times, see registration portal. $90 plus $25 equipment rental fee (if needed). Kayak: Learning to Roll (Ages 15 & up) This class is focused on learning how to roll a whitewater kay-ak. At this class, you will receive some poolside instruction and then work one-on-one with instructors in the pool, progressively learning and strengthening components parts of the roll until you have put it all together. For dates and times, see registration portal. $40 plus $25 equipment rental fee (if needed). Kayak: Open Pool Practice (Ages 15 & up) Bring your whitewater kayak and practice strokes, rolling, play moves, etc. in the warm pool. This does not include formal instruction, but Missouri Whitewater Association instructors will be on hand to coach. For dates and times, see registration portal. $40 plus $25 equipment rental fee (if needed). Learn to Swim: Beginner and Advanced (Ages 3 & up) There will be two 7-week sessions offered. Clas-ses run for 50 minutes every Saturday. Advanced Swim is held at 8 AM and 1 PM. Learn to Swim lessons are held at 8, 9, 10, 11 AM and 12 and 1 PM. Fee for residents: $40/7 weeks (nonresidents pay $50/7 weeks). 10% discount with district employee I.D. See Swimming Pool Information for more details. Swimnastics (Ages 18 & up) The first Fall Session will begin the week of January 6th. New sessions begin every eight weeks. Classes run Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. The fee for this class is as follows: $40 for 8 classes; $50 for 16 classes (60plus Gold Card Members: $25 for 8 clas-ses; $35 for 16 classes).
