A Lasting MemoryIt has been 35 years since I joined St Josephs High School in 1972 and 25 since ipassed out in 1982. Those 10 years of my life went off in a flash without me knowingthat we were enjoying the best period of our lives. The carefree life, no tensions andno pressures except coming to school and having fun was what we experienced. Ireally enjoyed my years at the school and the mere mention of the school or anyoneassociated with it touches a chord in my heart. There are many feelings attached toour school lives and I too have many good memories about the school. The primaryschool, then the secondary school, the playground, the canteen, the morningprayers and Father Rodney and Father Vernon's presence are all things I remembertill this date. Thanks for creating the website so that more of us can share ourfeelings and contact those from our batch. Thank you to all the teachers andsupport staff and may god bless them all.

Fond MemoriesSeventy-five years......Hundreds of students like me would have spent the happiestpart of their lives through the portals of St Joseph's every year. " St. Joseph's" thename touches a chord in my heart everytime i hear it. It brings with it the fondestmemories... I can always hear the school bell ringing, (always late), rubbing chalkover dirty white shoes, rushing over unfinished homework in the break, the unendingwait for weekends, dreading the tests and exams whenever they came and at theend of it doing fairly well.It was an often repeated story year after year, I can never forget the schoolfriends, school trips, teachers and the principalAt the end of it I thought "Atlast I'm through with school" But now I feel inspite of allthe freedom of college life, there is nothing which can ever match school life St. Joseph's - I never valued you when I was with you - " Now I miss you "

'I want to get back to school' ! each one wishes ! 15 mins away from my home , 8 am - 3:30pm , short break , long break , back homeand Homework! from Junior Kg to upper kg , primary section to secondary section ,

fighting for marks, playing , singing , dancing and running in the corridoors..i grew upat St.Joseph's high School!

Kindergartern days slowly went by in crying for staying away from mom each day, learning A , B , C and D and running around the trees and look at the seniors at the

canteen..where i could never reach to ask for a candy !*sigh*Friday!the colorful day for the primary section were we all would dress up, wearingtiny shoes ,short skirts, colorful bags and colourful ribbons..and figuring out who is

wearing the cutest dress! Then came the phase of secondary section. Using ink pens , new teachers , tallseniors , football matches , win and lose situation in elections, crushes, fights ,

picnics , more studies , board exams tensions and finally a lovely farwell ! I have enjoyed and cherished every moment at St.Josephs High School :)

It has been 25 years since I left St Joseph’s High School & 16 years since Isettled abroad!

But whenever I’m in Bombay (Mumbai) I make it a point to come & see myschool.

Those were the days....which will never return! Any amount of praises will not justify the efforts and toil and patience put in

by all the teachers of this school. I am proud to have been a student of SJHS.

our gratitude shall always be yours. We are what we are today, because of what you have given us.

SJHS played such a significant role in shaping my life and making mewhatever I am today.

I can truly saythat my time in school, the laughter and friendships of those yester years and

the numerous memories of people and events make me feel rich to date. Good luck to my batch mates (1982 Batch) and all Principals, Teachers and

students, past, present and future.Thank You and God Bless.

Throughout time, St. Joseph's has concentrated on creating forits students an environment of opportunities that will become anintegral part of the educational development of the "completestudent ". We believe, athletics has a very important role to playin this regard and as such has great interest in the student'sphysical well being and development.

The growth of athletic activities and facilities over the years hasprovided the school the opportunity to develop an athleticprogram that compliments the academic programs of the school, providing quality athletics with quality academics, while providing opportunities forthe students to enrich their talents in the areas of leadership, cooperation, and fairplay.

The variety of activities allows a degree of competiveness so that each studentcan find his level of participation an enjoyable experience while meeting andsocializing with as many fellow students as possible. There are assorted awardsoffered in the various sports, but the real reward for the student is the opportunityto participate with some degree of efficiency, success, and enjoyment.

St. Joseph offers students, through these scholastic sports, a valuable co -curricular experience as part of the St. Joseph life. The premise is that thesesports will provide every student moral, physical, and educational values. Theultimate goal is that during an academic year something special is offered to eachstudent as an opportunity to participate at his own level of interest and physicaltalent.

75 years is a historic landmark in the annuals of theinstitution. The glorious achievements of St. Joseph's HighSchool in its various spheres cannot be described in words. In the academic field we have had remarkable successover the years. Our S.S.C. results speak for themselves. The school has been carrying out co-curricular and extracurricular activities sucessfully under the able and trainedband of teachers and principals down years.

The school which was primarily a girl's school till 1971,gradually permitted boys ( who had to leave after Std IV)to continue their education till the S.S.C.In the past few years, the demographic structure of theschool has undergone a change. Now we have more boysin every class, a larger percentage of economicallychallenged children and many more who come from non-English speaking homes. This makes our herculean task more daunting and challenging.

We have tried with our limited abilities and resources to do our very best which maynot have been good enough. We strive to instil, particularly in the students, notmerely a resemblance of external order, but the conviction of inner discipline andformation of mind, right values abd spirit. Thank God! There are positive signs wecan see, so we are confident of relentlessly pursuing the cause of education andpreparing young minds and hearts to face the battle of life. Thus each child passingthrough the portals of the school will not only make his valuable contribution tosociety but also be a better person for the world of tomorrow. In the words of St.Paul "Let us go forward on the road that has brought us to where we are".All the creditable achievements of St. Joseph's should be attributed to the hardwork and dedication of the teachers and principals past and present to whom weare truly grateful. We would like to place on record our deep thanks to all our pastManagers for their unfailing assistance an to our present Manager Rev. Fr. VernonD'souza for his unstinted support, guidance, counsel and 'for just being there'

We thank the PTA Office Bearers and Executive Members for their co-operationOur grateful thanks to all our Ex- Principals, Ex-Teachers and Ex-Students for theirinspiring messages and their 'Walk down St. Joseph's Memory lane'. Our heartfelt thanks to our Parents, Sponsors, Well Wishers and Benefactors.

May this website bring us all students, teachers and all those who have beenassociated closer together .

May the Almighty Bless our School and help each one of us to continue to do ourwork sincerely and with utmost devotion and see St. Joseph's High School to itsCentenary.
