What are forms?

• A form is a physical shape or configuration of something.

• The form of a music magazine would be to have a front cover, main image, masthead.

• It would also be produced on glossy paper and would visibly present the genre through use of images typography and colour scheme.

What are convections?

• Convections are a way in which something is usually done; within a particular activity or area.

• Main conventions of a music magazine: New music, artists, trends and fashions.

• It shows the genre of the magazine i.e POP, R&B, Hip-Hop.

Masthead sticks to the convections, bubbly and bright.

Main image, my magazine has one image with visual hierarchy however other pop magazines may have numerous images with no hierarchy. Also during my research I came across the fact that many of the models are of a white/black background, however my model is a young Somali which my target audience noticed when I interviewed them, so this challenged the convections of a pop magazine.
