What we do: Conscious Connections develops high impact organizations through a participatory

coaching process which empowers Executive Directors/CEOs to create and successfully lead in

an energized and engaged organizational culture where members of the Board of Directors and

staff are equipped with the understanding and tools necessary to manage a financially

sustainable, high impact, mission-driven organization. Conscious Connections recommends that

organizations follow the methodology outlined below in the order presented, as one

process/deliverable leads to the successful completion of the subsequent process/deliverable.

How we do it: Conscious Connections’ methodology is implemented using a participatory

process of empowering staff and Board Members to achieve organizational excellence through a

seven phased process (P1-P7):

1) Strategic Plan/Organizational Strategy: Develop/review/strengthen the

organization’s existing operational framework documents such as a mission and

agency-specific Strategic Plan or Business Plan.

2) Performance for Impact: Design/develop and implement a Performance

Management Plan (PMP) which outlines and develops a system to measure agency

impact and manage the goals of the Strategic Plan (P1) against high impact,

measurable program objectives, indicators, activities and outcomes.

3) Operational Plan: Develop an Organizational Staffing Plan (org/dept staffing charts

and streamlined job descriptions for BODs and staff) against agency Strategic Plan

(P1) and defined objectives as outlined in the PMP (P2).

4) Capacity Building: Training and/or coaching of Board Members and staff who

participate in the development of the strategy and framework documents (P1+P2) to

implement the required action, which can be integrated immediately into daily

operations/job descriptions (P3). May also include organizational process

improvements recommendations.

5) Narrate: Write high impact, data driven program statements and organizational

capacity (P3 + P4) against AI mission, philosophy and industry standards using

measurable indictors/outcomes identified in the PMP (P1 + P2).

6) Fund Plan Development: Develop a Fund Plan Development framework which

ensures a thoughtful, educated approach towards fundraising. Outlines agency

financial goals by objectives, timing and funding sectors. Process results in a

development framework and well researched, agency-specific donor prospect list

against desired organizational state, as outlined in the Strategic Plan. (P1-P5)

7) Grant writing: Using well written high impact narrative statements which

demonstrates organizational capacity (P1-P5), prepare competitive bids for funding to

appropriately targeted donors and opportunities. (P6)
