This will help them lay a solid foundation for their future English learning. But others do not agree. Young children have to learn Chinese pinyin at school. If Slide 17 they study Chinese pinyin and English at the same time, it will be very easy for them to mix them up. This will do a lot of harm not only to their Chinese learning but also to their future English learning. In short, the students havent arrived at any agreement yet. Slide 18 Opinions are divided into two parts. Some students took it for granted that it is good for children to learn English since childhood. In their opinion, learning English earlier, for one thing, is taking advantage of childrens good memory as they can keep many new words in mind easily. For another thing, they can have a solid foundation for further study. The others, on the contrary, see it another way. They consider it bad for Slide 19 children to learn English early. There are two main reasons. First, children can easily mix Chinese pinyin with English as they learn English as well. Second, it will have a bad effect on childrens study in the future. However, after heated discussion, they didnt come to a conclusion. </p>
