The axis of the placeAll®areconstructedwithbelttransmissionwhichisdrivenbymodernDCmotorsincombinationwithahigh-solutionlinearmeasurementsystem.Thissystemismountedalongsideoftheaxis.The axis and assembling heads of the placeALL® ran-geareweight-optimizedconstructedtominimizetheacceleratingforce.Thereforetheuseofabeltdriveispossibleandthere’snoneedtobuildinaspindledrivewithshaftjoint.Thisisanenormousadvantageforcostofownershipandoffersahighpotentialofcostreductioninserviceandrepairaccordingtothespindledrive.

WhenplugginginasmartFEEDER,thefeederisautomaticallyloggedintothesystem.Inthisevent,notonlythedataofcomponentsareautomaticallypassedontothefeederbutalsothepickingpositions.Thesystemlog-intakesonlyafewmilliseconds.Therebyitdoesn’tmatterwhichfeederslotortowhichsideofthemachi-ne the smartFEEDER is plugged into.

Thepick&placemachineimmediatelyknowsthepickingpositionanditsfeedingprogramisautomaticallyad-aptedtothenewfeederwithoutinterventionoftheoperator.Emptyfeederscanthusbereplacedduringthecurrent feeding.

Feeder storage rack

Thefeedertrolleymakesitpossibletosafelystoreallfeederunitsthatarenotrequiredforthecurrentassemblyprocessneartotheplacementmachine.Whilstthemachineisproducing,theoperatorcanalreadygetthefeedersneededforthenextprojectonthefeedertrolley.Afterproductchangethefeederaresimplepluggedfromthetrolleytothemachine.

Thedifferentracksmakeitpossibletostockupallmaterials,likerolls,tubesorsmallcomponentsneededforproduction.Themountedwheelsallowaneasyandsmartmovingofthetrolley.

Thefeedertrolleyhasthefollowingracks:

Feeder set-up stations

Anexternalfeederset-upstationenablesaset-upoffeedersirrespectiveofthemachine.Therebytheset-upofanewprojectcanbecarriedoutatthesametimeasthecurrentprojectisstill being assembled.

Feeder racks Feederracksarerequiredtousetape or tube feeders on the machine. Each rack ensures the communicationtotheindividualfeeders.Dependingonthetypeofmachine,differentfeederrackscanbe mounted.

Feeder adapter

Thefeederadapterallowstheuseof belt and bar feeders using a sub-Dconnectiononpresentmachines.Theadapterallowstheset-upofthefeedersinthesoftwareandtherebyemulatestheadditional functions on present machines.

Dispensing modul

WhiletheproductionofprototypesandsmallseriesitisanadvantagetobringglueorsolderpastewiththehelpofamachineonthePCBsandthantoassembleit.Differentdispensingsystemsareavailable:

Time-pressure dispenser valve

Thesimplemeansofattachingthevalvemakesitparticularlyrobustandlow-maintenance.Theadjustablepressureaffectsthecartridgeafterashortperiod.Thedesiredamountcaneasilybesetinthesoftware.Normallyforsolderpasteorglueforroughstructures.

Double-Dispenser

TheDouble-Dispenseroffersthepossibilitytodispensetwodifferentmediainoneprocess.Theproductionofflexibleinterconnectdeviceisthereforeanapplication.Onecartridgecontainsglueforfixingthecomponentsandtheotherisfilledwithconductiveadhesiveforcontac-tingthecomponent‘spins.AvolumetricregulationcontrolsthedispensingvolumeforbothheadsoftheDouble-Dispenserbydefault.

Precision dispenser valve

Inthecaseoftheprecisiondispenservalve,additionalparameterssuchastemperatureandthefilllevelofthecartridgearecollected.Theprocessorcontrolregulatesthesevalues,thepressureandthetimeofthedispensingimpulseinordertoachievethehighestrepeataccuracy.Thisenablesthesafedispensingofamountsfrom0.001to10mm³.BythisFine-Pitchcomponentsdowntoapitchof0.5mmcanbesafelydispensed.

Jet dispensing system

Theveryfastpiezodispenservalvedispen-sesamountsataveryhighspeed.Inthecaseofadispensingfrequencyofupto150dots/second,itispossibletoconstantlyapplyverysmallamounts(upto2nl).Thehighdispensingfrequencyenablesthedis-pensingofsmallestamountsaswellaslargerwithonlyonehead.

Screw dispenser valve

Suitablefortheaccuratedispensingofmedium-viscosemediasuchasSMDadhesive,solderingpasteorsilverconductiveadhesive.Themediumistransportedwithas little application of pressure as possible. The actual dispensing is carriedoutbybeingtransportedbythespindles.Thismeanstheap-plication of pressure of the materi-aliskeptaslowaspossible.

TobringsensitivePCBssuchasceramicsubtratesorpartialassembledPCBssafelytotheplacementposi-tion,thePCBsareslowlymovedthrougharampofdeceleration to the stopper and so the mechanical loadisreducedtoaminimum.Allconveyorsarefullyprogrammable.Therateoffeed,rampsandwaitingtimes can be adapted to the application.

Fast and easy

Especiallyinsmallseriesthestand-andchangeovertimes should be reduced to a minimum.
