Abstract moves office in fire apparatus, Giffen Services Company of Albuquerque for a renewable one year contract for maintenance for heating and cooling system, and Radio Communications of Alamogordo for two-way radio com- munications maintenance, monthly contract. No bid was received for financing of two new fire trucks. This will be re-bid. -A road review committee was appointed to consider the closing of part of county road A034 and a street in Angus. Appointed were Trankie Silva, George Beaudry, and Israel Miranda, with Bud Payne as alternate. -A grant award from the Eastern New Mexico Area Agency on Aging was approved. The awards are for $4083 and $861 to be used by Zia Senior Citizen's Centers in Lincoln County. -Variances were granted for the road width and cul-de-sac width in Eagle Creek Acres, Unit 2. -Replat of Tract 24, Magado Creek Estates was approved. -Plat of the SW 1 f4, SW Y 4NElr4, Section 4, Township 11 South, Range 13 East, was tabled. -The final roads inspection report for Gavilan Canyon Subdivision was approved subject to correction on culverts and drainage and subject to snow removal on the cul-de-sacs the subdivider In 198&-86. -The Nogal Water 1m· provement Grant time extension request was approved. The grant is extended from June 21, 1985 through November I, 1985. -Resolution No. 74-19, the Fair Labor Standards Act was approved, with 8 no vote being cast by Commission Chairman Bill Elliott - Resolution 74-20 for emergency road repaIrs In Uncoln County using 588,900 from Chapter 15, Laws of 1985, for nood damages was approved. -ASCS office space lease agreement was approved. An executive session was held for litigation, purchasing and personnel. The Lincoln County Abstract Company, Inc., which has been located in Carrizozo for many years past, has moved its main office to Ruidoso, NM, and will be located in the Ruidoso State Bank Building, North Branch on Mechem Drive. The Company will maintain a full-time Branch office in Carrizozo which is located in the old Law Office bUilding next to the Shop Rite grocery store. Office hours for the Branch Office are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and telephone numbers are 648-2382 and 257-2170. The Branch office will be open to accommodate any and all perosns who need any title work, abstracting, real estate tran- sactions and closings, or title insurance policies. Farm Bureau to meet The annual meeting of the .Lincoln County Farm and Livestock Bureau will be OCtober 8 at the Wortley Hotel in Lincoln, State legislators Ben Hall, Richard Knowles, James Martin and Maurice Hobson will be guest speakers. Legislation-l986 will be subject discussed. The legislators will also answer questions from the audience. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. with the meal and the program at 7 p.m. and is open to anyone interested. County resolutions and election of of· flcers tor the coming year will eonclude the IJI'Ogram. Meals are also delivered to the homebound. The doll house has been named, "Percy's Project" and may now be seen at the Zia Senior Citizen's Center in Carrizozo. Jr. deputy meeting The Carrizozo Junior Deputies will meet Saturday, OCtober 5, 1985, at 10:00 A.M. in the Commissioners Room, Lincoln County Courthouse. Details for the Hunters Safety Course will be discussed. The course is planned to begin Monday, October 28, 1985. Tickets are limited. Reservations may be made at the Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce or calling 258-4455 or 257-5522. Dress for the Ball is semi-formal. This is a non-partisan affair LCDWC President Coleta Elliott says, "Every event has to have a sponsor. The LCDWC came up with this idea for an evening of fun following the events of the Aspenfest Day and decided to make this an annual affair." The King and Queen will be crowned at 11: 15 p.m. The drawing for the gifts: a man's $1,000 diamond and turquoise ring. a lady's gold aspen leaf and six diamonds ring, a blue fox fur, and a pair of Tony Lama boots plus other door prizes will be given away. Tapping' music will start at 8:45 which will give each guest at- tending the chance to enter the 'King & Queen Contest. Dancing will begin at 9 p_m. with music by Travis Elliott and his Country Magic Band. Local talent acts will be performed by guests Joe Gomez, Frank Potter. and Diane Coulston throughout tht> evening. The Village of Ruidoso will be honored in celebration of the "40th Anniversary of the Village as an incorporated Village." The doll house was buill according to plans that Carrizozo school librarian Julia Hollis received from the state library. The Victorian style mansion WIll be completely furnished with scale furniture and will be on dJsplay at the bank and at the school later this month. Raffle tickets wJ1l be sold by lia SenIOr CitIzen's Center and the draWing for the doll house wJII be held in December. The money making project for lia is necessary for the center to help make up their total budget. lia proVIdes serVIces {or senior citizens aged 60 and above The Carrizozo Municipal Schools will be offering a Com- munity Education class entitled, "Introduction to Weaving". The class will be taught by Ms. Joan HoI born ,a master weaver. The class will meet every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning on October IS and ending November 20. The class will meet in the Carrizozo Schools TV lab. The class will explore the basics of weaving on several types of looms. Tapestry techniques, inkle weaving belts, sampler of twills on a four- harness loom. Loom will either be simply made or supplied for use. Students will purchase inexpensive yarns for use in class. Any Carrizozo resident that is interested in taking the class should stop by the Superin- tendent office and register. The first ten people to register will be accepted. An enviromnental impact statement sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration was started in 1984.
