Compact Heat Exchangers and Enhancement Technology for the Process Industries UEF Third International Conference July 1±6, 2001 Davos Congress Center, Davos, Switzerland This Conference aims to accelerate and broaden the use of advanced heat exchanger technology into the process in- dustries. The speakers and attendees will 1) identify present applications of advanced heat exchanger technol- ogy, evaluating bene®ts and drawbacks; 2) identify fur- ther areas where advanced heat exchanger technology could be used; 3) identify barriers, real and perceived, to further applications; and 4) identify actions which can be taken by the various parties and disciplines to overcome these barriers, and to provide communication channels to the several segments of the technical community. In addition, basic and applied research results on many thermal-hydraulic, mechanical, and manufacturing aspects of Compact Heat Exchanged technology will be dis- seminated and discussed at the Conference. The Conference Chair is R.K. Shah, Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems, GM, Lockport, NY, USA. The Co-Chairs are A.W. Deakin, BP Chemicals, Sunbury, UK; H. Honda, Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan; T.M. Rudy, Exxon- Mobil Research & Engineering Co., Florham Park, NJ, USA.
