I had a call from a member of the public recently to say she was concerned about some unsafe behaviour of some of our students when travelling on the train. Whilst we don’t have any rules in SA about how old children must be to travel alone on public transport it is a parents/carers responsibility to ensure that their children have the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible bus or train travellers and are capable of travelling independently. It is not fair to expect a child to take on the full responsibility of caring for younger children. Their lack of experience may make it difficult for them to take charge of situations and things can get out of hand. limited resource is not distributed equally. At the

end of this unit, our class was asked, “Why should

we learn about and care about the Water Crisis?”
