ROAD AND RAIL SAFEY
It’s getting toward the busy end of the year so it is timely to remind everyone of being safe when travelling to and from school. I had a call from a member of the public recently to say she was concerned about some unsafe behaviour of some of our students when travelling on the train. Whilst we don’t have any rules in SA about how old children must be to travel alone on public transport it is a parents/carers responsibility to ensure that their children have the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible bus or train travellers and are capable of travelling independently. It is not fair to expect a child to take on the full responsibility of caring for younger children. Their lack of experience may make it difficult for them to take charge of situations and things can get out of hand.
REMEMBRANCE DAY
Remembrance Day marks the
anniversary of the end of the First World
War on 11 November, 1918.
Remembrance Day was originally called
Armistice Day but was renamed in 1997
to broaden the meaning of the day, to a
day which commemorates those who
served in any war or conflict not just
World War I. Please take a moment to
talk to your child tomorrow about the
significance of this day. More
information can be found at:

DREAM CRICKET
Did you see the photo and article in the Coast City Messenger recently? Our Y1 students were lucky enough to participate in a day of cricket and also received some equipment. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Edwardstown for
organising this great day.

CPPS GARDEN
Hi everyone,
Please pop in and visit our school garden
anytime. If you are lucky we may have some
fresh 100% organic child reared produce for
you to buy at a very cheap price. We would love
any parents or carers to come and help us or
give us advice or plants to grow. The garden
team work in the school garden every lunchtime
and after school. We are looking for some
helpers who can water the garden over the
school holidays ( and eat the produce!).
On Friday 18th November, the students will have
a garden stall all day to raise money for refugee
support, all money raised to the Mercy House of

Y6 SCIENCE In our Science and HASS we have been learning
about the importance of clean water as a Global
Resource. We have learnt that this valuable and
limited resource is not distributed equally. At the
end of this unit, our class was asked, “Why should
we learn about and care about the Water Crisis?”
