CIBUS is the international food fair which is held every two years in Parma. In practice there are the stands( some really very beautiful) where companies in the food sector( to name a few

Granarolo, San Carlo, Melinda, Mutti…) introduce themselves and welcome representatives, customers etc… this years there were also some consortiums of different products( eg. IGP street

Nano Veronese rice, cheese). There are all kids of companies: cheese, pasta, flour, frozen products, for large-scale catering products, but 99% of all Italian products. CIBUS is basically a

trade fair, open only to employees and therefore is different from the saloon of the taste of Turin.

Parma and its province is famous worldwide for its food

and for their cooking, in particular for Parmigiano-

Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto di Parma. Most of the wine production in the

province of Parma is Lambrusco wine, dark red

Barilla and Parmalat. According to special survey carried out in

2006 by "The Reputation Institute" of New York, Barilla

was, among the world's multinationals, the best company on the basis of

reputation, being the most known worldwide. Parmalat

was ranked 22nd place.
