“Jesus always asked questions as, “What do you want Me to
do for you? (Mark 10:51). Do you want to be healed? (John
5:6)” He gives everyone the right to choose. When you come
to Him, He does not destroy your personality. Instead, He puts
power in your personality and makes you effective and influential.
He loves you the way you are. When you come to Him, He
takes away the sin nature and all that’s associated with it, and He

THE REAL SUPERHEROES
T O THE BIBLE 1 John 5:11“And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.”
(Live The Divine Life In Christ Jesus)
Saturday, June 1
There’re lots of superheroes on our screens today: men and women of indomitable abilities and
godlike features saving the world from villains and monsters, yet these characters are all fictional and man-made. The real super heroes and heroines on the earth today, with the God-kind of life, are you and me. If you’re born again you have the God-life in you. This is a statement of fact; God has set His seal to this. Notice the tenses in our opening verse: “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life….” He isn’t trying or planning to; He’s already done it!
You have eternal life now. This life isn’t the human life, but the God-kind of life; the essence of divinity. God’s Word is definite and emphatic as to where this life is and how to get it: it’s in Christ Jesus. Anyone who has received Christ has received the God-life. And this life can’t be found in any of the religions of the world.
Until you confess the Lordship of Jesus over your life, and are catapulted into the glorious realms of salvation, you don’t have the God-life. What you have is the human, biological life (Greek: psuche). This human life is subject to satanic influences, sickness, disease, and the elements of this world. However, if you have the Son, happy are

you! It means you have His indestructible, indomitable and incorruptible life in you.
You don’t ever have to be afraid of the devil or his cohorts. The Son of God, whom you’ve received, destroyed the works of the devil in your life, family, and physical body (I John 3:8). He paralysed satan, rendered him helpless, and gave you a life that’s superior to him. Meditate on this truth. Having received Christ, you’ve received the Light of life; the darkness is gone forever. Your life is now supernatural; therefore, rule over circumstances. Walk tall. Talk bold. Reign as a king in life (Romans 5:17)!

T O THE BIBLE Psalm 86:11 MSG“Train me, GOD, to walk straight; then I’ll follow your true path. Put me together, one heart and mind; then, undivided, I’ll worship in joyful fear.”
(Learn To Discipline Your Mind For Success)
LET’S TALK
Sunday, June 2
When you want to chart a new course for yourself
or set new goals for growth, you have to learn
to use your mind. Your mind is a very valuable tool that can
be disciplined. You can teach it to focus in one direction,
instead of vacillating in thoughts. This way, you’ll be able to
use your mind to prepare your heart to accomplish greater
things. Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” By
staying your mind on the Lord, you’re disciplining your
mind to focus on the Word of God concerning you and
what you’re doing. The result is that you’ll experience the
extraordinary peace of God that gives rest and prosperity.
Take your mind away from anything and everything
that distracts, and focus your attention on God. Choose
to only be around those who love the Lord, and discuss
only with those who’ll inspire you. Keep away from people
who deflate your faith, or try to talk you out of what you
want to achieve. Set time aside for study and meditation
on the Word. To stay your mind on God, you have to stay
your mind on His Word. Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the

Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate
in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all
that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous,
and then you will have good success.”
In addition, speak in other tongues at every opportunity
you have to be alone because you’re about something; you
want to birth new visions and ideas. Keep at it, and soon
enough, you’d receive the note of victory in your spirit and
know that everything is settled, “and the peace of God, which
surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

Monday, June 3
In the days of king Ahasuerus, a certain man named Haman hated the Israelites so much that he wanted
them gone, all because an Israelite refused to bow to him! The king had promoted Haman above all the princes in his kingdom, and so all the king’s servants bowed and reverenced Haman whenever he walked by (Esther 3:1-2).
He had the political influence to annihilate anyone whom he hated, and sought to start with Mordecai, the Israelite, who would not bow to him, due to his Jewish law. However, Esther, who was also a Jew and married to the king, was completely oblivious of Haman’s hatred and quest to destroy her people. Mordecai, her uncle, sent a touching message to her which we read, telling her, “Who knows, perhaps, you have come to royal position to prevent this from happening.”
Have you ever wondered why you were born in this generation and not in the eighteenth or nineteenth century? It’s because God has a purpose for your being here at this time. He really does! In her day, Esther’s timely
11
intervention prevented Haman from actualising his wicked plot against the Israelites to wipe them out!
Maybe you’re “the Esther” that God has placed in that street today, in that classroom, where you can be of help to God’s people. Sometimes, it might even be for you to help one individual, or to cause the work of God’s Kingdom in your neighbourhood to progress further.
God has placed you where you are because He knew a time of need would come; so, make sure you rise to the occasion. Don’t neglect any opportunity to help. Don’t think about yourself only; think about the Gospel, and its spread around the world through your personal contributions.

WHAT’S TRUERIGHTEOUSNESS?
T O THE BIBLE Romans 1:16-17 GNB“I have complete confidence in the gospel; it is God’s power to save all who believe, first the Jews and also the Gentiles. For the gospel reveals how God puts people right with himself: it is through faith from beginning to end. As the scripture says, “The person who is put right with God through faith shall live.””
(The Gospel Unveils God’s Kind Of Righteousness)
Tuesday, June 4
Dave had always thought Christianity was all about
turning a new leaf: doing good deeds and not doing
things that God didn’t want. Thus, he had assumed he was
a Christian because he didn’t smoke, lie, or cheat in class like
others did. He only got to realise, after hearing the Gospel of
Jesus Christ, that his stance before God wasn’t as a result of the
things he did or didn’t do, and that true righteousness with God
was a free gift to receive through faith in Jesus Christ’s death,
burial and resurrection.
Through the years, people have sought righteousness,
wanting to be righteous before God. However, the latter part
of our opening scripture explains the reason for their inability to
attain righteousness or even comprehend what it means. The
righteousness of God is only revealed in the Gospel of Christ.
The Gospel of Christ is the unveiling of God’s righteousness;
it’s the good news of God’s righteousness to man as a gift.
Therefore, until one accepts the Gospel of Christ, he or she
will never be able to live a righteous life or know what the
righteousness of God is.

Righteousness gives you the ability to stand in the presence
of God without condemnation, guilt, fear or sense of inferiority. It’s
the ability to stand in fellowship with God and having the rightness
of God in your spirit. There’s no other way to come into this
extraordinary life of righteousness and oneness with the Lord,
except through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This is why we can’t afford to be quiet about the Gospel.
It’s the answer to mankind’s cry. There’s no other way for people
to learn of, understand and receive God’s righteousness, outside
of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, don’t be quiet where you are
today; preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be the answer to
people’s search for God’s righteousness.

(Don’t Neglect The Details When It Comes To God’s Instructions)
Wednesday, June 5
As you walk with the Lord, and carry out that which He instructs you to do, you must
painstakingly pay attention to spiritual details because of their importance. Moses, for example, learnt this the hard way. In Numbers 20:8, God instructed him, “Take the rod…Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock….” Moses didn’t know how important it was when God told him to talk to the rock.
The instruction to speak to the rock was of spiritual significance which he ignored and struck the rock instead. It was the mistake of his life. The instruction seemed so light to Moses, but the rest of his ministry was hinged on it; he didn’t know it. Moses, as a result, wouldn’t be the one to lead the children of Israel to the Promised Land because of this error.
In serving the Lord, it’s very important that you always listen to the details of His instructions, however insignificant they might sound. God’s Word is God’s instruction. Live your life, not according to man’s instructions, information or opinions, but according to the Word. God leads you in the path of greatness by giving

you clear and specific instructions to follow. It’s not about what somebody advises or instructs you to do; the question is, “What is God’s instruction in His Word about it?” This is why I love the Bible, because it’s God’s instruction manual for a glorious life.
Do you want to have an excellent life, full of glory and success? There’s a way: follow God’s Word; don’t neglect the details in His instructions. in church. He’s so talented; I just wish I could play

Barry replied, “Hey, you’ve got some good talent too;
I heard you sing at home, and boy, you’ve got a great voice.
I think you should join the choir, rather than trying to be like
Tom.”
There’s something unique about each one of God’s
children; we’ve been all so uniquely graced and gifted by
God. The Bible says, “…each one has his own gift from God,
one in this manner and another in that” (1 Corinthians 7:7).
Everything you are in Christ—all the gifts, talents, and abilities
God has given you—are to be used for His glory. Whatever
the Lord has taught you or is teaching you; whatever He
has exposed you to and helped you to know, are all for the
continuance of the Gospel.
Therefore, don’t hide what you know; don’t hide your
abilities or talents. Prayerfully consider what more you can do
for the Lord. Think about what you can contribute, because

(You’re Not Subject To The Elements Of The World!)
Friday, June 7
When you were born again, you were delivered
from the power of darkness, and translated
into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son (Colossians 1:13).
You’re therefore no longer subject to the elements of this
world. This means that you must refuse to be snowed-
under by infirmities and harsh elements of this world that
make life unbearable for the ordinary human being. From
our opening scripture, it’s the baby in Christ—the spiritually
immature—that can be subject to the elements of this
world.
This is why you must keep growing in the Lord—
unto a mature one in Christ. Then you’ll be knowledgeable
enough to walk in the consciousness of your inheritance
in Him. In John 8:32 the Lord Jesus said, “...you shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” If you walk
in ignorance of the truth of God’s Word, you’ll remain
in bondage and suffer the same things that the people of
the world suffer. You might even think that God is the one
punishing you, but He isn’t. Why will He punish you after
He has “punished” Jesus in your place? The Bible says, “...

between Africa and Asia. It is one of the warmest, saltiest, and
possibly the reddest sea around the world. It contains alga
called ‘Trichodesmium Erythraeum’ which turns the original
blue-green colour of the sea water, reddish-brown. Hence
the sea’s name as the “Red” Sea.
The sea is underlain by the Red Sea Rift, which is part of
the Great Rift Valley and it’s home to over one thousand
invertebrate species, and two hundred soft and hard corals. It
is the world’s northernmost tropical sea. The Red Sea is one
of four seas named after common colours — the others being

the Black Sea, the White Sea, and the Yellow Sea.
Due to its high rate of evaporation, very little precipitation
in its area, lack of significant rivers or streams draining into
the sea and limited connection with the Indian Ocean
(which has lower water salinity), the Red Sea is one of the
most saline bodies of water in the world.
The water from the Red Sea is also utilized by oil refineries
and cement factories for cooling purposes. The sea is known
for its spectacular recreational diving sites. It became a
sought-after diving destination after the expeditions of Hans
Hass in the 1950s, and later by Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
This was the same Red Sea that was crossed by the Israelites,
who were led by Moses from Egypt, after God had “…
swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night and turned
the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided” (Exodus
14:21 NASB). It’s an amazing landmark to remember.

“He’s got perfect grades always; he’s athletic, neat, and
always punctual at class unlike others. It’s like he’s Mr. Perfect.”
“No one’s perfect. Perhaps he hides his flaws....”
You’ve probably met some people like Kathy here who
don’t believe that perfection is possible. When you try to talk
to them about perfection, they refuse to listen. With a sneer,
some even accuse you of being a “perfectionist,” because for
them, “nobody can be perfect.” Yet, when you study God’s
Word, there’s no place that suggests to us the impossibility of
perfection. He requires us to be perfect, not when we get to
heaven, but here and now—in the earth! The reason most
people don’t think perfection is possible is that they don’t
know what it is! Perfection, like success, can be measured at
different stages of your life, according to the set-out purpose
and goal. It’s measured according to the information that you
have with respect to the underlying objective.
“Perfect” in our opening verse is the Greek word
“teleios,” which describes perfection in your heart; a
completeness; measuring your heart with the heart of God.

You think, love and forgive as God wants you to—you let
your heart be like the Father’s heart. Another Greek word,
“katartizo” is also used for “perfect” in 2 Corinthians 13:11 KJV:
“Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect....” This means to do things
perfectly. It’s not the perfection in the heart (teleios) but of your
actions: the things you do and how you do them.
The emphasis here is on doing things impeccably right
the first time, and the first step in achieving this is learning to
pay attention to details! Believe in perfection and don’t be
intimidated by it. Your perfection will be judged according to
the training and information that you’ve received, not the one
you didn’t get. So, practise being perfect by thinking and talking
perfection, because the Lord requires it of you.

says, “My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen to my
words. Never let them get away from you. Remember them
and keep them in your heart. They will give life and health to
anyone who understands them” (Proverbs 4:20-22 GNB).
The word “health” in this scripture is translated from the
Hebrew word marpe, which means medicine, healing or
remedy. That means God’s Word is medicine to your
flesh.

“GLORY!”
T O THE BIBLE Romans 4:20 AMP C“No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God”
(Two Ways To Give God Glory)
LET’S TALK
Monday, June 10
There’re two major ways of giving glory to God. The first one is to testify. And how do you testify?
There’re three ways to testify; the first is by declaring what God did for you before the Lord Himself. Secondly, you testify with your offering. Many don’t understand the power of the offering; it’s a testimony. When you give God your offering, it’s not a collection; it’s a holy thing to do before the Lord. As you give it, you’re testifying and giving glory to Him in your life. Read about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, and his son Solomon; they all worshipped with offerings severally.
The third way to testify is to tell others; make known to others that which the Lord has done in, with, and for you. Thus, you live your life before others every day, in faith, and manifesting His righteousness. So, when people see you and say, “This fellow never gets discouraged no matter what happens. He always stands his ground on the Word. He must really trust in the Lord!” That’s a testimony. These three form the number one way of giving glory to God.

The second way of giving glory to God is by speaking or shouting “Glory!” This is revealed in Psalm 29:9 (NIV): “…And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”” Did you notice it doesn’t say, “…everyone should whisper Glory!” You can therefore imagine how Abraham must have lived; he was constantly shouting “Glory,” in spite of his precarious condition in the eyes of other men. We do that too a lot of times when we’re led by the Spirit to shout “Glory!” It makes no difference where you are, or what you’re facing; irrespective of the daunting task or challenges, shout “Glory!” As you do, the Lord’s presence and power will be manifested in your situation!

Lucinda loved bickering and complaining about anything:
she would complain about the weather, her nation,
her clothes, schoolmates and even her family members!
Whenever she walked into any place, she brought the mood
down with her gloominess and people avoided her. Tonia,
on the other hand, was different; she was a breath of fresh
air. She’d always have some testimony from God’s Word to
share. As a result of her testimonies, she kept herself in health
while Lucinda always had a reason to visit her doctor every

As a Christian, it’s important you testify of God’s
goodness. Our opening verse says, “…they overcame him by
the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony….”
Learn to testify always! Testify of the power of God’s Word.
Testify of the miracles of God that you’ve witnessed and
experienced in your personal life. One important reason you
must always testify is because not all the demons of darkness
know you. Of course, they know you’re a Christian, but they
don’t know your personality. Therefore, they’ll test you to
know whether you’re full of fear or not; they’ll want to test
you to know whether or not you’re trained.

So, when you get to a new environment, the first thing
you should do is to start testifying. Testify of the workings of
your faith and the Word of God in your life. As you do, the
demons that are close by will hear your words and begin to
transmit your profile to other demons. Soon enough, they’ll
become careful not to toy with you or anyone connected to
you. Demons are proud figures who don’t like to be disgraced;
so, they’ll stay off you. However, if you don’t testify, they
wouldn’t know what God has done in your life and with your
life, and so, they’ll be hanging around, occasionally throwing
darts at you; maybe in the form of fever or an ailment, because
they don’t know who you are. But when they know you, they
back off. So, be quick to always share your testimonies.

T O THE BIBLE 2 Timothy 2:20-21 NASB“Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. Wednesday, June 12
As it can be seen in Apostle Paul’s letter to Timothy,
there’re different qualities of vessels in God’s
house: vessels of silver and gold, and vessels of wood and
of earth. Being born again, we’re all vessels in the house of
God, made for honouring Him. None of us was made “to
dishonour”; each one of us has been raised for His glory,
but you can decide if you’re going to be a vessel of honour,
or a vessel of dishonour. That’s what Paul meant when he
said, “...if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will
be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master....” (2
Timothy 2:21 NASB).
To be “sanctified” means to be separated or set
apart unto God for His sacred use. We’ve already been
sanctified: “...we have been sanctified through the offering of
the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Hebrews 10:10). He
has also qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the
saints in light (Colossians 1:12). Therefore, you’ve been

(Get To Know Who YouAre Praying To)
LET’S TALK
Thursday, June 13
There’s such a thing as praying with understanding,
just as we can praise God with understanding.
Now this is different from praying or praising with “the”
understanding. Praying with “the” understanding is praying
to God through your mind, in the language that you can
understand. In other words, you’re not praying in tongues.
1 Corinthians 14:14 says, “For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit
prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.”
On the other hand, praying with understanding means,
you understand the principles of that particular prayer; you’re
praying according to God’s Word, and your prayer has a
definite direction; you know the reason for praying as well
as the result! You’re praying, knowing who you are: a joint
heir with Christ and also knowing the one to whom you’re
praying: the Monarch of the Universe! Consequently, you
pray with reverence and in faith, confident that there’s nothing
too difficult for Him to do.
In praying with understanding, you have a knowledge
of who you are in Christ; you have knowledge of the Father,
and you have the knowledge of the truth that without faith
it’s impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). In addition,

you know that without the Word of God in operation, your
prayer is empty; so you pray the Word. Even when you speak
in tongues, you’re aware that you’re not speaking to men but
to God; you’re speaking mysteries concerning the situation:
“For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to
God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks
mysteries” (1 Corinthians 14:2).
This is how you pray when there’s a “matter.” When
something is happening in your life or in your country that’s
not consistent with the will of God, pray with understanding
and you’ll have results.

As you study the entire book of Galatians, you’d
understand why Paul made the statement
above, chiding the Galatian Christians: they had strayed
from the message of the Gospel, the Word of faith, which
they had received. Some false teachers came into their
midst, teaching them that they had to obey the Law to
be justified. Decrying their deviation from the message of
faith, Paul asked them, “Having begun in the Spirit, are you
now being made perfect by the flesh?” He wanted them to
remember how they received the Holy Spirit; it wasn’t
through obedience to the Law, but by faith.
The salvation they had received didn’t happen
by keeping the Law: “For by grace you have been saved
through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
not of works, lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Your righteousness and right-standing with God aren’t the
results of your good works; they’re by the faith of Christ,

the result of what He did. Galatians 2:16 says, “Knowing that
a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in
Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we
might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the
law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.”
The righteousness, which is by faith, doesn’t rely on
the works of the Law, but on faith in the God that justifies the
ungodly (Romans 4:5). By faith, you received eternal life, and
the Holy Spirit to live in you. By faith, the righteousness of
God was imparted to your spirit. Therefore, continue in faith,

hope of the Gospel, which you’ve heard (Colossians 1:23).

LET’S TALK
Saturday, June 15
As God’s child, you’re not supposed to live like others in the world do; don’t conform to their
ways of doing things. For example, you might be in a place where people generally cheat or are dishonest; don’t copy them. Don’t say, “But everybody is doing it”; that everybody is doing it doesn’t make it okay. Besides, you’re not “everybody;” you’re a new creation; you’re special; you’re one of a kind.
Our opening verse doesn’t just tell us not to conform to this world, it also informs us on what to do to stand out and live the life of righteousness. It says, “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind....” It’s talking about a metamorphosis, a transfiguration or change from glory to glory. This change happens by the renewing of your mind. This means it’s really up to you to change your state, to move from your present glory, to yet another level of glory and excellence.
Perhaps you’ve had fears in your life, now with the Word of God you can reprogramme your mind against fear. Maybe you used to be pointlessly talkative, that also can change. The Lord isn’t saying, “Try to change,” because He knows that won’t work; rather, He lets you know how

the necessary change can come about: it’s by the renewing of your mind. The renewing of your mind will alter your personality. If you wanted to become a bold person, it wouldn’t happen by saying, “Okay, from today, I’m bold”; no. First, be conscious that you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. The consciousness of your righteousness in Christ will transform you into a bold and courageous person.
If you’ve been experiencing failures and difficulties, you can transform into a young man or woman of success by changing your way of thinking. Receive and process new information from God’s Word that’ll reprogramme your spirit for success and position you for greatness.

Man is a spirit and needs the supernatural life to function to his full potentials. That’s the reason
Jesus came to give us another kind of life—the God-kind of life. Anyone that has received Jesus as Lord has this life (1 John 5:11). The Apostle John, emphasising this, declared, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life…” (1 John 5:13). God wants you to have the consciousness of the divine life in you.
He wants you to be aware that because of this divine life working in every fibre of your being, no one, and nothing, can destroy you. Ephesians 2:1 says, “And you [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins” (AMPC). Think about that: you were dead, but now you’re alive in Christ. Can you see why you’re indestructible and invincible? Life works in you. This is the right mindset for the believer in Christ; the Lord Jesus Christ came to this world, died in your place, and was raised from the dead to give you a new life that’s not susceptible to defeat, failure or death. You should therefore live happy, joyful and in glory, victory, righteousness, dominion, and excellence.

Think about this: a young lady went to the grocery store to purchase some rice, veggies and
chicken: she paid for and put them in a bag, and then she went home. In her kitchen, she cleaned all the vegetables nicely and sliced them, but she neither boiled the rice nor cooked the chicken. She served the uncooked rice and chicken that way! Obviously, she hadn’t finished preparing the meal as she should have. Imagine if the Lord Jesus was that way: imagine He came to earth and didn’t finish the work He came to do—we wouldn’t have been saved.
He knew the importance and eternal significance of His assignment and committed Himself to it with extraordinary discipline and diligence, against all odds. Hence, He boldly proclaimed at the end, “...It is finished...” (John 19:30). He made it possible for salvation and eternal life to be available through the Gospel to everyone who believes.
Some people never seem to get through on any task given to them; they perform it halfway and never bring it to an excellent finish. This shouldn’t be the case with you. When a responsibility is assigned to you—whether at home, school or elsewhere—ensure you put

The Lord didn’t just set out to “do” the work, He was also determined to finish it. Hebrews 12:2 tells us that for the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. What things was he referring to?
In the preceding chapters of 1 Timothy, Paul had

This means you’ll make advancement by the Word;

The Septuagint rendering of the latter part of the verse
above is more enlightening. It didn’t just say you’d
have good success; rather, it goes on to say you’ll become
perceptive. The Greek word used is “suniemi”; it means to
be sagacious and perspicacious; to have high intelligence; to
have your thinking level elevated to a high class! It also means
to be acutely insightful, possessing the ability to “mentally put
things together.” That’s what the Word of God does in your
life. It makes you wise and penetratingly discerning.
The Amplified version says, “...you shall deal wisely

people, in business, in your finances, etc. The Spirit of God,
through the Word, brings extraordinary sagacity into your life.
Every Christian needs this. Psalm 119:98 says, “You, through

THE DILIGENT VS
SLOTHFUL
T O THE BIBLE Proverbs 12:24 AMP C“The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put to forced labor.”
(Diligence: A PathwayTo Greatness)
LET’S TALK
Thursday, June 20
Slothfulness is one of the antonyms of diligence.
That means the one who isn’t diligent is slothful,
and will of necessity live a hard life, while the diligent receives
promotion. The New Living Translation puts Proverbs
12:24 this way, “Work hard and become a leader; be lazy
and become a slave.” It makes a difference what you do; if
you work hard, you’ll be a leader and a champion. When
it says, “Work hard,” it means to diligently do whatever is
required to be done to achieve excellence in what you do.
The slothful ending up a slave doesn’t mean he’s going to
be a slave to somebody else, but to a system. That means
he’ll be hemmed-in in life—a slave of the world’s system—
whipped by the whims of life.
The diligent, on the other hand, “will rule”; that
means they shall have authority. If you want to be successful
in anything, whether it’s about gaining some more weight
or shedding some thereof, or perhaps about your health
or studies, diligence is what you need. Diligence means
careful, persistent and determined actions to achieve a
definite purpose. Proverbs 22:29 tells us that the diligent is
not only going to stand tall among kings, he’s going to walk
among them. Whether he becomes a king or not, he’s

going to be known among kings. Isn’t that wonderful?
You’re not going to be among obscure men when
you’re diligent. God cares about your life and what happens
to you; He wants you to have excellent results in all that you
do, that’s why He wants you to be diligent. You may have set
goals for yourself in the area of your finances, health, spiritual
or career development; pursue those goals with diligence.
To fulfil God’s destiny for your life, you have to work on
being diligent in every area of your life. Diligence is truly a
pathway to greatness.
Practise applying painstaking effort and giving close detail with the things
you do today. That’s the first step toward being diligent and excellent.

YOUR UNFAILING HOPE
T O THE BIBLE Romans 15:13 GNB“...God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith
in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
(There’s No Such Thing As “Too Late” With God)
LET’S TALK
Friday, June 21
When you read the story of Abraham and his
wife Sarah, you’d realise there’s no such
thing as “too late” with God. The Bible says, against
natural hope, Abraham believed in hope that he might be
the father of many nations, according to the Word of God
(Romans 4:18-21). He was about a hundred years old,
while Sarah was ninety years (Genesis 17:17). Yet, God
told Him he was going to have a child through Sarah.
Abraham believed, and at the appointed time,
Sarah brought forth Isaac. Some people often lose hope,
wondering why they didn’t get what it was they had prayed
and fasted for. Some others gripe about the promises of God
taking too long to be fulfilled in their lives. Well, both groups
of people have one common problem: unbelief. The issue
isn’t with God. He’s never late.
Consider the Lord Jesus: a message was sent to
Him that His friend, Lazarus, was sick (John 11:3) and He
promised to go over to see him. The Master waited four
more days, until Lazarus died and was buried. It doesn’t get
any more hopeless than that. Jesus had said Lazarus’ sickness
wasn’t unto death (John 11:4), but he died. He had said He

was coming but didn’t show up until four days later. When the
Master eventually showed up, he requested to be taken to the

for four days. He instructed that the tombstone be rolled away
and called out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” The
dead man came back to life (John 11:41-44).
Learn to trust God, for He’s the One who gives life
to the dead, and calls things that don’t exist as though they
already existed. He lives in eternity where there’s no past or
future. With Him, everything is in the “NOW”; and He proves
Himself Master over all circumstances, no matter how late,
dead, or impossible they might seem in the eyes of men.

WORD SCOPE
“Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image
of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His
power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at
the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:3).
Brightness is an attribute of visual perception in which a
source appears to be radiating or reflecting light. In other
words, brightness is the perception elicited by the luminance
of a visual target. It’s the subjective attribute or property
of an object being observed; the quality or state of being
bright. It derives from the Greek Word “apaugasma,” which
means effulgence. It refers to radiant splendour, brilliance, a
perfect replica of beauty.
Thus, Jesus being the brightness of God’s glory means He’s
the effulgence, the radiant splendour, brilliance and perfect
replica of His beauty. Since the believer is born after the
similitude of the Second Adam, the Lord Jesus, it therefore
means also that he shares this same likeness of being the
effulgence of God’s glory. As a Christian, you’re the out-
showing of God’s glory. You’re the perfection of beauty; the
fullness of God and the totality of His power dwells in you.
So you’re complete in Him (Colossians 2:10).

TAKE YOUR
INHERITANCE
T O THE BIBLE Acts 20:32“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.”
(The Word Delivers Your Inheritance To You)
LET’S TALK
Saturday, June 22
A s Christians, we’re born of the Word (1 Peter
2:23); the Word gave birth to us; therefore, our
lives can only be built and sustained by the Word. From the
moment you made Jesus the Lord of your life, the building
process began; the Word builds you spiritually, mentally,
physically, financially, and in all areas of life. Furthermore, the
Word is able to “give” you an inheritance among all those
that are sanctified. This is quite an interesting thought in Acts
20:32. The Spirit of God, through the Apostle Paul, wrote
this to the Church. Why would He say this to Christians who
already have an inheritance in Christ Jesus?
First, understand that He wasn’t talking about the
ownership of the inheritance; rather, he was talking about
the inheritance being delivered into your hands. For
example, you might be the rightful owner of an inheritance,
e.g., a house, and never be able to get into it, perhaps
because of legal processes due to difficult individuals claiming
ownership of the same property. In the same way, though
all things are legally yours in Christ Jesus, there’re rebel
holders of authority—satan and his cohorts—who often

try to sway God’s people from enjoying their inheritance.
The Word of God is able to literally deliver your
inheritance into your hands, to enjoy, irrespective of the
activities of the adversary. If you’d constantly meditate on the
Word, not only will you be built for success, excellence and the
victorious life, the Word will also deliver into your hands that
which is rightfully yours in Christ. So, open up your appetite

Someone once asked me, “Is it really possible to be
full of joy all the time?” Very quickly, I responded,
“I’m joyful all the time!” Then, he said, “Don’t you think
that’s a bit unrealistic?” “It depends on what reality is to
you,” I responded. For some people, reality is their human
experience, but our reality is Christ. In Christ, it’s possible
to be joyful all the time. You can be joyful every day, and be
successful every day, irrespective of what happens to you
or around you, because that’s God’s desire for you. He
wants you to be joyful and successful.
Jesus came, lived, died, was buried, and resurrected;
all for your sake! He suffered that you might live in the glory
of His sufferings. That means you should live joyfully every
day, enjoying your life. That is what He died for: He died
for you to live the best life, be the Father’s dream, and be
a success in life and in everything you do, irrespective of
the challenges that you might face. James 1:2 says, “My
brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials.” The
challenges that come your way are described in God’s

(Honour SpiritualAuthority)
LET’S TALK
Monday, June 24
There’s a remarkable lesson for us to learn from
the attitude of Michael the archangel, when he
disputed with satan over the body of Moses. Michael, with
all his power and glory, couldn’t dare bring an accusation
against satan, an evil personality. This was because he
recognised that satan had Adamic authority, which is
higher than angelic authority. Adam lost his authority to
satan when he ate of the fruit God had instructed him not
to.
As a result, Michael could only rebuke satan in
the Name of the Lord, a higher authority. This is very
instructive on how we’re to relate to spiritual authority as
God’s children. You should never criticise, dishonour or
speak against those whom the Lord has placed in positions
of authority. That’s the way I’ve lived; I don’t say things
against God’s people, especially ministers of the Gospel,
because they carry the authority of God.

Sadly, there’re some in the Church who believe

TRUTHS FOR TODAY
T O THE BIBLE 2 C orinthians 5:17“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
(Delve Into Your New Creation Realities)
LET’S TALK
Tuesday, June 25
There’re certain truths about the new creation
which, as Christians, we must be conscious of
and live by. These are not promises but established truths
in God’s Word—present hour realities. One of such is our
opening verse above. When you received Christ into your
life, you became a new creation. “If any man be in Christ,
he ‘is’ a new creation.” “Is” is a “now” word—a present-
hour reality! You’re not going to be a new creation when
you get to heaven; you’re a new creation now! Your new
life started the day you made Jesus Lord of your life.
An important truth in our Kingdom is about the Word
as God’s cleansing material and agent of change. Jesus said in
John 15:3, “You are already clean because of the word which I
have spoken to you.” It doesn’t matter the depth of a man’s sin;
if he would give attention to God’s Word, he’ll be cleansed.
God’s Word cleanses your system of all unrighteousness and
every anomaly, sickness and disease inclusive.
Another of such glorious realities is that we’re heirs
of God, and joint-heirs with Christ! “And if children, then
heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we
suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together”

(Romans 8:17). To be a joint-heir with Christ means
everything that belongs to Him belongs to you, in the same
way and degree that it belongs to Him. Both of you own
everything hundred per cent together. Therefore, like Him,
you’ve also been appointed heir of all things. No wonder
Paul said, “...all things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21).
The Lord Jesus took your place of sin and condemnation
that you might become the righteousness of God in Christ.
Now, you’re one with Him, having His life and nature in your
spirit. These and more are present-hour realities of who you
are, and your placement in Christ. Study the Word to know

T O THE BIBLE John 13:35“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

LET’S TALK
Wednesday, June 26
“I love you” rarely comes out of the mouths of certain
people. Some even associate the expression of
love with some form of weakness, not realising that love
is the greatest force in the universe. That’s because God
is Love! The most important thing in your life should be
your love for God and those for whom Jesus died. This will
make you think differently about God and about people.
You’ll have a love-language, and not be judgmental towards

the anointing. You’ll become a helper and a lifter of others;
one who is touched and moved by the infirmities of others,
so much so that you want them well.
Love will inspire and compel you to intercede passionately
for the sick and hurting, the lost, and also for those who
persecute you and have set themselves up as your
enemies. Your prayer for them will be from deep within
your spirit; that’s the prayer of love; it’s unselfish and
unconditional. The Word says while we were yet sinners,

we didn’t even know God. If He loved us so, in spite of our

True faith works by love (Galatians 5:6). Love should

I’ve always known for a long time that wherever I am is God’s headquarters, because Jesus said He and
the Father would make their abode in the heart of the one who loves Him and keeps His Word. As I meditated on this, several years ago in prayer, Jesus became so real to my spirit, and I understood what Paul meant when He said, “For the love of Christ compels us…” (2 Corinthians 5:14).
Colossians 1:26-27 AMPC says, “The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations [from angels and men], but is now revealed to His holy people (the saints), to whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ within and among you, the Hope of [realizing the] glory.” This is the secret of the ages. This is the key: Christ in you.
This was what Jesus meant when He said what He said in John 14:23. You become a Christ-in-you person. Christ takes up His abode in the quarters of your heart. Where will that take you? Let’s read Colossians 1:28-29: “Him (Christ) we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. WORK THAT MIRACLE
T O THE BIBLE Mark 16:17-18
(Get The Power Working)
LET’S TALK
Friday, June 28
The Lord Jesus never once exaggerated; He always spoke absolute reality. What He said
above is something you should consciously demonstrate, knowing that He who said it never lied to anyone. You’re to lay hands on the sick to receive healing; you’ve got that ability in the Name of Jesus. The Lord Jesus will be remiss to ask you to do something you couldn’t do, or for which He hasn’t enabled you. He said in Matthew 10:8, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead….” This is for every believer in Christ; step out in faith and take healing and health to the people in your world, and in the regions beyond.
Someone might however lament, “When I pray for people, they get healed, but when I get sick I’m not able to help myself.” Many have found themselves in this dilemma. It’s similar to what happened to Elisha who was so anointed of God, but died sick. In 2 Kings 13:20-21, some men were about to bury a man when they spotted some raiders. Hastily, they tossed the corpse into the sepulchre that contained the remains of Elisha. As soon as the dead body came in contact with Elisha’s bones, the

dead man came back to life (2 Kings 13:21). This happened long after Elisha was dead; his bones retained the anointing! Though Elisha died sick, God’s power in him didn’t fail. We can conclude that it was Elisha that didn’t apply that power to his health.
You’re supposed to apply the same authority Jesus gave you to heal the sick in your personal life. Christ the Healer lives in you; acknowledge this reality, and function with this consciousness every day. When you do, everything that’s not of God: sickness, poverty, death, lack, failure, depression, etc., will have no hold over you.

BELIEVEAND SPEAK
T O THE BIBLE Romans 10:9-10“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
(Release The Power In You Through Your Words)
LET’S TALK
Saturday, June 29
It’s not enough to know the Word of God in your heart; you have to speak it forth as well—that’s how
it works! God instructed Joshua, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (Joshua 1:8). The original Hebrew rendering of the word “meditate” is “hagah,” which means to ponder, roar, imagine, murmur, mutter, speak, talk, or utter. It’s much more than thinking the Word; you have to voice it!
The opening verse shows us that speaking out what you believe is a fundamental spiritual principle without which the gift of salvation can’t be received. The salvation package is delivered upon satisfying two conditions: the first is “believing,” while the second is the “confession” of that which you’ve believed. Both work together for salvation to be complete. In the same way, to live the glorious life in Christ, where you enjoy all the benefits of salvation, you must keep the Word in your mouth always. You must believe and speak.
71
Some people find themselves in unpleasant situations and say, “I believe the Word of God, but I don’t know why things aren’t working out right for me.” Believing the Word alone will not change anything, until you start using your mouth right, by speaking what you believe. Your mouth was given to you to create your future and your victorious life. Your life goes in the direction of your confession. You have to say what you want in life. Even now, speak the Word about your family, academics, health, etc. Release the dynamic power to effect the changes you desire by speaking forth faith-filled words.

Dear Father, I thank you for giving me your Word—the infallible
instruction manual—for the successful and victorious life in Christ! I live
in health, victory, and peace; and I’m making progress with giant strides,
as I live in your Word, conscious of its power and ability to transform my
life and cause me to excel from glory to glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Pray
Meditate on 2 Corinthians 4:13: “And since we have the same spirit of
faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we
also believe and therefore speak.”

TAKE A HOLDOF GOD
T O THE BIBLE Isaiah 64:7“And there is no one who calls on Your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of You; for You have hidden Your face from us, and have consumed us because of our iniquities.”
(Stir Up Yourself To Take A Hold Of God)
LET’S TALK
Sunday, June 30
The Prophet Isaiah was speaking to God in the
verse above. Israel was in a tight corner because
none sought the Lord; no one stirred himself up to “take a
hold” of God. We however, as Christians, can stir ourselves
up to take a hold of God, to take a hold of His words, and
make them real in our lives, through prevailing prayers.
It brings to mind, Jacob’s encounter with the Angel
of God’s presence. Jacob knew he needed a miracle to
escape his brother, Esau’s wrath, having deceived their
father, Isaac, to obtain the inheritance in place of Esau.
Jacob divided his family and everything he had into two
groups and sent them ahead of him to entreat Esau such
that, if Esau smote a particular group, the other group,
perhaps, could escape and be spared (Genesis 32:4-8).
Subsequently, Jacob was left alone, and the Bible says he
wrestled with an angel all night long. Jacob wouldn’t let go
of the angel until he received a blessing from Him (Genesis
32:24-26).
In the book of Hosea, the prophet explains that the
angel that wrestled with Jacob was actually the Lord: “…
in his strength he struggled with God. Yes, he struggled with
73
the Angel and prevailed; He wept, and sought favor from Him.
He found Him in Bethel, and there He spoke to us—that
is, the Lord God of hosts. The Lord is His memorable name”
(Hosea 12:3-5). Jacob stirred himself up to take a hold of
God through prayer, to take a hold of God’s blessings.
This is something we must learn to do as Christians, to
stir ourselves up and take a hold of God’s Word for us and
for others through prayer. We must remain importunate as
we intercede for lost souls, and for those who have strayed
from the faith. We must prevail in prayer for them until Christ
is formed in them.
Ephesians 5:18-21; Ephesians 3:20-21; 2 timothy 1:6

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for the privilege of prayer; a place of
heartfelt communion, to stir up myself and take a hold of your Word
for my life. Thank you for giving me the ability to effect changes through
prevailing prayers, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Pray
Set a time out today where you can pray and intercede with the Lord as
regards someone else’s health, academics, family etc.
