    China, the most

    populous Country

    in the world

China is located in the south-

eastern part of Asia and is

    roughly 9,706,961 kilometers

squared in a rea . The

    Government that China is

    run by is a Communist

    state.The official language

    spoke in China is Mandarin,

    however Cantonese, Xiang,

    Min and Hakka are also

    commonly spoken. China is

    the most populated country

    in the world, with an

    amazing 1.33 billion people!

    Chinas growth rate is

    approximately 0.87% and its

    death rate is roughly the

    same as Australia which is

    6.77 deaths. In urban areas

    across China, you would find

    about 382 million people, or

    about 37% of people who

    live in the largely populated

    country. The largest city in

    China is not its capital

    Beijing, it is Shanghai,

    another well known city to

    tourists and the local people

which is located in the south

of the country. Beijing is the

capital of China and was the

    c i t y w h e r e t h e 2 0 0 8

    Olympics were held. Beijing

    i s r e c o g n i s e d a s t h e

    educational, political and

    cultural centre of the China.

    The c i t y has a to ta l

    population on eleven million.

    The c i ty i s constant ly

    changing, because it is being

    modernised. People are

    leaning towards motorbikes

    for transport, rather than

    cars to travel around the

    city. Very few countries

    around the world have the

    same uniqueness and beauty

    that China possesses. China

has a One Child Policy, which

    was first introduced by

    C h i n e s e l e a d e r D e n g

    Xiaoping in 1979. The policy

    was created to try and

    control the population. The

    children who do survive their

    childhood usually live to an

    average age of seventy-five.

    Of this large population,

    approximately 94% can read

    and write with ease.

    Chinese people are well

    known all around the world

    fo r the i r hard-work ing

    personalities and their good

study habits. In China, mostwork in the industry sector.

Ch i na has a boom ing

    industry, and this is where

    the majority of people work

in China. A large amount of

    chinese can be found working

    in Agriculture, as farmers.

    However, not everyone has a

    job and earns enough money

    to support their families.

    Nearly forty-eight million

chinese l ive be low the

    domest i c pover ty l ine ,

    accounting for 3.7% of the

    total population. Wealthier

fami l ies in China have

    luxuries such as internet.

    Roughly 450 million chinese

    can afford to have internet.

    In Australia the number of

users of the internet is not as

    high because the population

is a lot lower. Currently, around 17 million Australians

    are regular users of the

    internet. Money is a major

use in China, as it is in any

    other country. China regularly

    imports and exports goods, in

and out of the country. The

    official currency of China is:

Renminbi. It is legal tender in

    mainland China, but not in

    Hong Kong, Taiwan, or

Macau. It is issued by the

Peoples Bank of China and its

    name means peop le s

    currency.

    Mountains cover 33% of

    China and deserts cover

    around 28%. Although China

is by far the worlds most

    populated country, much of

    its land is uninhabitable or

    near uninhabitable. The

western half of the country is

    mostly desert, the central

    and southern areas of the

    country are surrounded by

    mountains and the north-

    east is heavily forested and

    reaches unbearable and

    bitter temperatures in the

    winter. China is surrounded

    by four different landscapes,

    which in theory protected the

    country from being invaded

    b e f o r e p l a n e s , a n d

    technology were invented.

    The barriers are: Mountains,

    Ocean, Deserts and Plateaus.

    The Himalayan Mountain

    Range, The Gobi Desert, The

    Pacific Ocean and many

    different Plateaus surround

    China, making it hard to

    access on foot. Most of

    Chinas tens of thousands of

    rivers flow eastward, towards

    the Pacif ic Ocean. The

    countrys two longest and

    most important rivers are the

    Yangtze River, and the Huang

    He (Yellow River), which both

    travel along the Plateau of

    Tibet.

    More and more animals in

    China have been classified as

    endangered due to the effect

    of human activities and

    natural d isasters. Most

    endangered species in China

can be found in the national

    parks, or reserves. The key

    element to saving these poor

    animals is returning them to

    a safe environment. The top

    ten endangered animals in

    China are: The Pere Davids

    deer, Tibetan Antelope,

    Black-Necked Crane, Chinese

    A l l i ga to r, B rown Eared

    Pheasant, Crested Ibis, South

    China Tiger, Golden Snub-

    nosed Monkey, White-Flag

    D o l p h i n , a n d m o s t

    important ly , The Giant

    Panda.

    China, the

    fourth largest

    Country

    The Australian terrain well

known for its is mostly low

    plateaus with deserts,

    rangelands and a fertile

    plain in the southeast. The

    Chinese terrain is quite

    different, consisting of

    Mountains, plateaus and

    hills which account for

    nearly 70% of Chinas total

    land surface. China has a

    b r o a d e r r a n g e o f

landscapes than Australia, they also have many, many

    m o r e p e o p l e . T h e

    population density in China

    is 130 people per square

    kilometer. The Population

    density in Australia was last

    reported at 2.90 in 2010,

    according to a World Bank

    report published in 2012.

    Oceans are one of the

    main landscapes that was

    able to prevent the country

    from invasion in its early

    years. The ocean that

borders China to its east is

    The Pacific Ocean. The

    Ocean that borders its

    South-East is the South

    China Sea. The second

longest river in China is the

    Huang He or the Yellow

River. This river flows pastShanghai, and The Great

    Wall of China before

    emptying into the Bohai

    Sea. Chinas capital is

    located in the North-East of

the country. On this side of

    the country, you will find

    the Russian and the Korean

borders as well. As many as

    fourteen countries border

    China.

    The Eastern and Southern

half of the country, has a

    c o a s t l i n e a n d h a s

    numerous offshore islands.

It is a region of fertile

    lowlands with most of the

    agricultural output and

    human population. The

    western and northern half

of China is a region of

sunken and has manyplateaus, and the land is

less fert i le , therefore

    possessing less human

    population.
