mission( job, duty) it can perform in the society.

Art can be an important tool in the hands of the artist to express opinions.

Art For Everyone: What does it discuss? The chapter takes

the example of the artist Keith Haring who was not only an artist, but also a social activist. He discussed the problems of New York, his city, in his art.

Haring opened a Pop Shop selling items such as pins, pens and T-shirts which have his art on them.

He wanted everyone to learn about his art and the problems of the society he/she was living in.

Style:The Comma “ , ” A comma in writing is like a pause

inside a sentence when speaking. We use commas inside sentences. Commas separate parts of a sentence into logical elements. Commas have no meaning, but they help us to see the structure and therefore the meaning of the sentence.

Tokyo Pop ShopHaring opened a Pop Shop in Tokyo on

January 30, 1988. He wanted the Tokyo Pop Shop to be successful, but it had many problems. People did not buy Haring’s art at the Tokyo Pop Shop because there were cheap copies everywhere. For example, it was easy to buy T-shirts, pins, and posters with “fake” Haring art on them. Finally, the Pop Shop in Tokyo closed in 1989.
