With growing global businesses that span

online, catalog and retail stores, Otto Group

is driving innovation in digital shopping

experiences. To speed the creation of new

services, Otto Group IT engaged HPE

experts to design and implement a Hybrid IT

operating model based upon HPE’s proven

transformation methodology. Now, new

infrastructure services are provisioned 90%

faster, accelerating innovation – and

reducing operating costs by 40%.

Initial Engagement Strategy Hybrid Delivery IT Services Delivery

Otto Group IT determined that what they wanted going forward was a Hybrid IT delivery model, with at least 50% of the IT services being standardized and highly automated.

HPE proposed a standardized process model based on the HPE Unified Transformation Framework (UTF) to plan and carry out the transformation.

It was clear Otto Group IT had to completely modernize their traditional IT delivery model to enable companies within the group to implement business projects faster.

Today, part of IT is provided automatically and standardized from the private cloud at Otto Group IT, and some iT are provided following the traditional model for individual projects.

HPE and Otto Group IT not only focused on the architecture and technology, but also the service portfolio, organization and culture, operating processes, software development processes and governance , required for an effective Hybrid IT solution.

Although Otto Group IT had a SPICE platform that gave it the technical infrastructure necessary for standardized, automated and flexible service provision, the company however did not yet have a suitable operating model for it.

Accelerating transformation

They now have an internal service catalogue which staff can use to compile various standardized service components for different projects.

Otto Group IT determined that

HPE would be the ideal partner

for its transformation, bringing

expert knowledge, highly

structured approach and

methodological understanding.
