Although we may agree about how a business should operate, this does not mean that we agree on the behaviors

Global competence challenges us to go beyond awareness and understanding
of differences to develop effective behaviors and strategies.
Not knowing why the proverbial chicken will or will not cross the road demonstrates
the challenges of interpreting behaviors from one point of view.
Understanding does not mean agreement—with a person or a position.
Effective verbal and non-verbal communications skills are enhanced by cultural awareness and understanding.
Knowing what’s important to us as individuals and professionals
allows us to better understand how we come across to others.
