Contribution to VCE/VCALStudents are eligible for credit of up to four VCE VET units on their Statement of Results: two units at 1-2 level and one unit 3-4 sequence.The VET Building and Construction qualification provides a unit 3-4 sequence for satisfactory com pletion purposes. Students may accumulate VCE VET units over more than one year.This course is a partial completion. Third year VET or a three week block at the end of year 12 is required to complete full course.This course does not contribute to the ATAR.

22216VICThe aim of the VET Building and Construction is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to achieve units of competency that will enhance their employment prospects in building or building related industries. This qualifica tion will enable participants to gain a recognised cre dential and make a more informed choice of vocation and career paths as well as expose them to skills, such as building projects, workplace safety and first aid.This program is only partially completed by the students within the school timeframe. A three week bridging program runs at the end of the second year (held at Chisholm with an additional cost) enabling the students to complete the Certificate II qualification. Special Requirements Students are required to wear steel cap boots and their school uniform.

Structured Workplace LearningIt is strongly recommended to have a minimum of 80 hours of work placement throughout the duration of the VET program.
