This is achieved by offering classes, lessons and performing opportunities to over 1,800 students through programs on campus, off campus and in partner schools and organizations.

The 2012-2013 CCM Prep program book should be mailed out in mid July. As soon as program details are finalized, we will begin updating our website, too, so check our website frequently for updates.

Classes begin on Saturday, Sept. 8, which will also be when most auditions will be held.

This upcoming season, we will be programming for 30 weeks, so there no longer will be a Fall and Spring semester. Some classes will run shorter than 30 weeks, but most will be yearlong. The shorter session classes will be held at UC Blue Ash. Also new next year:

During CCM audition days (Jan.

12 and 26, 2013), we will offer special master classes for all theatre and dance students. We are excited about this and students will have a chance to experience different teachers and experiences.

New payment plans that should make tuition payments easier.

An expanded jazz program. We will be add a Jazz Experience ensemble for students age 13 and older here on the CCM campus and add another Jazz Explosion group on Tuesday evenings at Lakota West High School.

A preschool music program led by Mary Rekers at UC Blue Ash.

A composition class for budding composers.

Auditions are now being scheduled by private appointment for the Cincinnati Children’s Choir’s 20th Anniversary Season. Singers entering grades 2-12 this fall are welcome to audition. Please complete the online audition registration form available at the CCC web site: www.cincinnatichoir.org/auditions/childrens-choirs-auditions/ … and then call (513) 446-9508 to schedule an audition. No preparation is required for the auditions. Singers will be asked to perform vocal exercises for one of our conducting staff to determine which choir will meet the student’s readiness level. Both new and returning students must audition each year. This enables the staff to monitor the progress and accurately place the singers into the ensemble that best addresses each student’s needs. For more information about CCC’s Resident Choirs, go online to: www.cincinnatichoir.org/ programs/childrens-choirs/

CCM Prep students college-bound

Another year has come and gone! It’s been a really good year and I’d like to share with you some of our achievements and highlights: Dean Peter Landgren began his tenure as Dean of the College-Conservatory of Music last September. We could not have found a more supportive dean for our work. Dean Landgren was a preparatory student at the Eastman School of Music and truly understands the importance of a program like ours in the community. The Preparatory program has an important presence in this school and we will continue to expand both our programs and excellence.

The CCM Prep jazz program has grown in leaps and bounds this year. It

has been an amazing year for our jazz program. We are blessed to have great faculty and last count we have about 80 students involved in our jazz program. Expect our jazz program to continue to grow as we fill an important musical need in our community. UC Blue Ash satellite location. We are most grateful to the administration at UC Blue Ash who have been wonderful hosts for our first year at UC Blue Ash. Our program is expanding next year and we are always open to ideas for programs that we may offer at this site. Community outreach programs in the Cincinnati Public Schools. Through a variety of community and university partners, we have offered classes and workshops that increases access to the arts for hundreds of students. We continue to seek partners and support so

we can expand our reach into the community. I am looking forward to a great summer and hope to see many of you back in the fall!
