DRAWING BREAKDOWN1.Part : A Single item which has no components other than itself (bracket, angle, plate, bush)

2.Assembly (Minor) / Sub assembly : Group of parts & standard parts assembled (Bracket Assy., Locking System, Lever Assy.)

3.Assembly (Major) : Group of parts / sub assemblies to form a major assembly with standard parts (Canopy Assy., Air-intake, Floor Assy., skin & stringer)

4.Installation : A group of assemblies which forms a major component which is directly installed on the aircraft. Should contain reference parts, stations, contour details, datum (Canopy instl., air-intake, wing etc.,)

5.Standard Part : Generally used item manufactured as per approved standard. (Bolt, rivet, washer, nut, spring, pin)

6. Bought Out Item : Proprietary item purchased from a manufacture or supplier (LRUs, Ejection Seat, Valves, Heat Exchangers)

IDENTIFIABLE PART (S) (MANDATORY)The part failure may endanger the safety of an aircraft. Hence a greater control over the dimensions, machining, heat treatment process, and selection of material to be taken care.

The identifiable parts to be related back to their origin, i.e Source of material supply,Batch & year of production,Supplier and other details, etc.,
