Statement of RelevanceThose first couple of years of a student’s schooling grades K-2 are so crucial in their development. With that being said it is important to assure that they have the skills and tools that they need to help them be successful. Through the use of guided reading a strong solid foundation can be laid. By assuring that students receive the instruction that they need. This means that as they continue on in their education the foundation that has already been laid can continue to be built upon as they grow and learn. For myself personally with me being a 1st grade teacher I see the importance of assuring that when each student walks out of my classroom at the end of the school year, that I have done my part in laying a solid foundation.

Concluding Statement

This project will be a great tool and resource to use when laying the foundation for guided reading instruction. It will present the research and information needed in order to show the importance and affects of guided reading. As well as serve as a resource guide for teachers when trying to provide the best instruction and meet the needs of all of their students.
