March Marvels 2016! View this email in your browser CAPITAL WOMEN Message from the Co-President Time is definitely going by fast. March is almost over and here comes spring. Spring is the time when plants start blooming again and it is also the time of new beginnings. So I personally started a new initiative called STEM Santa Fe. It is a new non-profit focused on STEM out-of-school activities and mainly mentoring youth to enter STEM competitions. So be careful when you see me and ask about STEM Santa Fe. I can talk for an hour non-stop about all my vision for this initiative. Of course I got my inspiration working as the STEM Chair for our branch and organizing Careers & Curiosity in Math and Science and Expanding your horizons conferences. Anyone interested in taking over the STEM Chair position? Please connect with me if you are interested. I want to draw your attention to our one and only Annual Business Meeting on May 11. This is an important meeting and we need as many members as possible to show up. Consider coming to the tour of the Santa Fe Institute at 10:30, or just come straight to the meeting at 11:30. We will vote on the new slate of officers and on the updated bylaws. Yep, we need to update our bylaws and the slate of officers to be elected is based on these new bylaws. A draft is in the works and we will be sending you a final draft to review beforehand. Our slate of officers nominated for 2016-2018 is: Sandra Bradley – Finance officer Maxine Davenport – Secretary Jeanne Patrick – AAUW Funds Chair Subscribe Share Past Issues Translate
