    Investment Officers [on Contract]

    a. Qualification:

    A Graduate in any discipline, preferably with MBA, and having flair for marketing the Insurance,Mutual Fund and other products of the Bank. All the qualifications mentioned should be from arecognized University / Institution.

    Knowledge (Read / Write / Speak) of the local language of the State / Union Territory for whichhe / she is applying, is essential.

    Candidates must necessarily be qualified by passing the IRDA Licence Examination after theirprovisional selection, at their own cost. Provisionally selected candidates shall be allowed to jointhe bank only if they acquire the IRDA Licence within the period stipulated by the Bank.

    Candidate should possess the following;- Passion for Marketing- Work independently and also with team- Computer literacy- Good communication skills

    Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior experience in marketing / insurancebusiness.

    Since the job involves extensive travelling, candidates should have good physical fitness andready to accept the challenges & meeting the targets.

    COMPUTER LITERACY: Operating computer systems in MS-DOS, MS Windows, Basicconcepts of Networking & Connectivity, MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail etc.] shallbe an essential qualification, which a candidate must either possess or acquire within 6 monthsfrom the date of joining the Bank.

    HINDI KNOWLEDGE: The candidates shall acquire working knowledge of Hindi, if notpossessed already, within 6 months from the date of joining the Bank.

    b. Job Profile:

    Marketing the Insurance, Mutual Fund and other products of the Bank. Responsible for end-to-end sales. Any other work assigned by the Bank from time to time.

    c. Period of Contract:

    Three [3] years with an option to extend for two years at the discretion of the Bank.

    d. Compensation:

    Fixed Pay:

    Rs.15000/- per month subject to achievement of minimum threshold premium of Rs.1 lakh permonth i.e., Rs.12 lakhs per annum.

    Basic : Rs.10,000/-

    HRA : Rs.2,500/- [25% Basic]

    Conveyance : Rs.1,500/- [15% Basic]

    Medical Aid : Rs.1,000/- [10% Basic]

    Variable Pay:

    Over and above the threshold limit, he/she will be entitled for variable pay and the variable payis equivalent to 15% of the commission received by the Bank, which shall be paid quarterly.

    The contract appointees, who fail to achieve performance with a minimum threshold premium ofRs.3.00 lakhs per quarter, consecutively for two quarters, beginning from the second quarter oftheir appointment shall cease to continue as contract appointees of the bank from the last day ofthe month from the end of the second quarter under review. However, if any candidate fails toachieve minimum threshold limit of Rs.3 lakhs in any quarter, Bank reserves right to cancel thecontract appointment.

    e. Other Benefits:

    Casual Leave 10 days per calendar yearAnnual Leave- 20 days in a calendar year

    The Annual Leave can be encashed to the extent of 50% every year. Carry over of unavailedcasual / annual leave shall not be permitted.

    f. Other Conditions:

    i. Applicable Income Tax shall be deducted as per provisions.

    ii. Either party may terminate the contract by giving one month notice in writing / byremitting one months fixed compensation amount.

    iii. The Bank will have the right to recover at its discretion, any loss or money due to theBank, from the amounts due and payable by the Bank without prejudice to any otherremedies the Bank may adopt for recovering the same.

    iv. 10% of the Basic will be deducted as employees contribution towards ContributoryProvident Fund and monthly contribution will be provided by the bank over and abovethe fixed compensation. The employees contribution as well as Banks contributiontowards Contributory Provident Fund shall be settled at the time of cessation.

    v. The Contract Appointee shall not be eligible for any perquisites whatsoever which arepayable to permanent employees of the Bank.

    vi. Officers recruited under the contract system are not eligible for pension in any form.

    1. DEFINITIONS

    A] Ex-Servicemen [XSM]:

    Only those candidates shall be treated as Ex-Servicemen who fulfill the revised definition as laiddown in Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel andAdministrative Reforms Notification No.36034/5/85/Estt.(SCT) dated 27.10.1986 as amendedfrom time to time.

    Note: The Territorial Army Personnel will be treated as ex-servicemen w.e.f. 15.11.1986.

    B] Reservations for Persons with Disabilities:

    Reservation is available for Persons with Disabilities under Section-33 of the Persons withDisabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights & Full Participation) Act 1995:

    Visually Challenged [VC]:

    (i) Blindness refers to a condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditionsnamely (a) Total absence of sight or (b) Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 {snellen} inthe better eye with correcting lenses; or (c) limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of20 degree or worse.

    b] Persons eligible for age relaxation under 4(iv) above must produce the domicile certificate atthe time of interview from the District Jurisdiction where he / she had ordinarily resided or anyother authority designated in this regard by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to the effectthat the candidate had ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of J&K during theperiod from 01.01.80 to 31.12.89.

    c] An Ex-servicemen who has once joined in a Govt. job on the civil side after availing thebenefits given to him as an Ex-servicemen for his re-employment, his Ex-servicemen status forthe purpose of re-employment in Government ceases. Ex-servicemen candidates who havealready secured employment under the Central Govt. in Group C & D will be permitted thebenefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-servicemen for securing another employment in ahigher grade or cadre in Group C/D under the Central Govt. However, such candidates will notbe eligible for the benefits of reservation for Ex-servicemen in Central Govt. jobs.

    The selection for the post of Investment Officers on Contract shall be by way of Written Test +Interview.

    *If the test is conducted ON-LINE, descriptive test willnot be there.

    There will be negative marks for wrong answers in Objective Test. The Descriptive Test isonly for qualifying purpose. Bank will decide the minimum cut-off marks for each subject as

    well as Total Weighted Score [TWS]. Depending on the number of vacancies, such of thosecandidates who rank sufficiently high in the order of merit in the written test as per the cut offmarks decided by the Bank will only be called for interview.

    Mere eligibility / admission to the test / pass in the test does not imply that the Bank is satisfiedbeyond doubt about the candidates eligibility and shall not vest any right in a candidate forbeing called for interview. The Bank reserves the right to call only the requisite number ofcandidates for interview.

    Other details regarding the test will be given to the candidates in the Acquaint YourselfBooklet, which will be sent along with the call letter for written examination.

    The Bank reserves the right to change the selection procedure, if necessary. The change,if any, shall be communicated to the candidates in advance.

    Maximum marks for Interview is 100 and the final selection shall be State / Union Territory-wise& on the basis of performance in Interview only.

    The Bank would be free to reject the candidature of any candidate at any stage of therecruitment process, if he / she is found to be ineligible. If appointed, such a candidate may besummarily removed and the fees paid by the ineligible candidates shall be forfeited.

    6. DATE OF WRITTEN TEST:

    The written test is tentatively fixed on 05.09.2010 at the following Centres. The exact venueaddress of the test will be intimated in the Test Call Letter.

    Candidates have to appear for test, from a centre allotted to the State / Union Territory for whichhe/she is applying.

    All the communications viz, call letters for test / interview etc., will be sent to the address forcommunication given by the candidate in the application form by ordinary post only. Requestfor sending to different addresses subsequently will not be entertained.

    WRITTEN TEST CALL LETTERS:

    The call letters for attending the written test shall be sent to the eligible candidates by ordinarypost. Candidate has to affix his / her photograph on the call letter. Candidate has to bring thiscall letter along with original payment challan / NEFT receipt while attending the written test.

    CALL LETTER FOR ATTENDING INTERVIEW:

    The candidates who have qualified in the written test & ranked sufficiently high [as mentioned inPoint No. 5] will only be called for the Interview and their details and Interview Schedule will bemade available in Banks websitewww.canarabank.com. Interview Call Letters shall be sent byordinary post to the candidates who have qualified for interview. Alternatively the interview callletter can be downloaded from the Banks website.

    Bank will not take responsibility for late receipt / non-receipt of call letter / any communication tothe candidate. Hence candidates are requested to keep track of their application status byvisiting Banks website from time to time during the recruitment process.

    10. ACTION AGAINST CANDIDATES FOUND GUILTY OF MISCONDUCT:

    Candidates should not furnish any particulars that are false, tampered, fabricated or suppressany material information while registering the application and submitting the certified copies /testimonials.

    booklet, answer sheet, from the examination hall; or resorting to any other irregular or impropermeans in connection with his/her candidature for the selection; or obtaining support of his/hercandidature by any means, such a candidate may in addition to rendering himself/herself liableto criminal prosecution, will be liable

    (a) to be disqualified from the examination / interview for which he / she is a candidate

    (b) to be debarred, either permanently or for a specified period from any examination orselection held by the Bank.

    The Bank/IBPS would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other appearedcandidates to detect patterns of similarity. If, as per the laid down procedure, it is suspected thatthe responses have been shared and the scores obtained are not genuine / valid, the Bankreserves the right to cancel his / her candidature.

    11. GUIDELINES FOR USE OF SCRIBE IN THE WRITTEN TEST:

    Wherever written examination is held, only those candidates who are blind and candidates

    whose writing speed is affected by cerebral palsy can use scribe at their own cost during thewritten examination. In all such cases, where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply:

    1) The candidate will have to arrange for the scribe at his / her own cost.2) The academic qualification of the scribe should be one grade lower than the stipulatedminimum eligibility criteria.3) The scribe can be from any academic stream and should possess marks less than thecandidate but in any case not more than 60% in his own academic stream.4) The candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming thatthe scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. Further, incase it later transpires that he/she did not fulfil any of the laid down eligibility criteria orsuppressed any material facts, the candidature of the applicant will stand cancelled, irrespective

    of the result of the written test.5) Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hourof examination.

    12. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

    a) Candidates have to register on-line through Banks website only. No other means ofapplications shall be entertained.b) Admission to the written test / calling for interview is purely provisional without verification ofage / qualification / category etc. of the candidates. Mere receipt of call letter for written test /interview does not imply that the Bank is satisfied about the candidates eligibility. Candidates

    should ensure their eligibility before paying the fees / applying / attending the written test /

    interview. Bank reserves right to reject ineligible candidates applications at any stage and thefee paid by ineligible candidates shall be forfeited.c) The Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the fee once paid will notbe refunded on any account nor would this fee be held in reserve for future examination /selection.d) Applications which are incomplete in any respect will be rejected and the fee will be forfeited.e) Candidates will have to appear for the written test and interview at their own expenses.However, outstation SC/ST/Persons with Disabilities category candidates called for interview

    will be paid II class to & fro train fare or actual expenses incurred, whichever is less, by shortestroute on production of proof of travel. The above concession will not be admissible toSC/ST/Persons with Disabilities category candidates who are already in service in Central /State Government, Corporations, Public Undertakings/ Local Government, Institutions andPanchayats etc.f) Candidates serving in Government / Public Sector Undertakings (including Banks) are

    required to produce a No Objection certificate from their employer at the time of interview, inthe absence of which their candidature will not be considered.g) Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in the State / Union Territory for which he /she applied, should applyh) Decision of the Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at whichsuch scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced for the purpose ofthe conduct of interview, selection and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final andbinding on the candidate. Further, the Bank reserves right to stall / cancel the recruitmentpartially / fully at any stage during the recruitment process at its discretion, which will be finaland binding on the candidatei) No correspondence or personal enquires shall be entertained by the Bank.

    j) Bank may, at its discretion, hold re-examination / re-interview wherever necessary in respectof a centre / venue / specified post or candidate/s.k) The successful candidates in written test are required to submit all the documents pertainingto Age, Qualification, Experience, Caste etc at the time of interview. These documents will beverified at the time of interview. If any candidate found ineligible while verifying the documents,shall not be allowed to take up interview.l) Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC / Persons with Disabilities categories should keepready an attested copy of certificate issued by competent authority in the prescribed format asstipulated by Government of India. In case of candidates belonging to OBC category, certificateshould specifically contain a clause that the candidate does not belong to creamy layer sectionexcluded from the benefits of reservation for Other Backward Classes in Civil post & servicesunder Government of India. OBC caste certificate should not be more than one year old.
