Families and groupscan enjoy the large day-use areas perfect for apicnic or get together. A volleyball court, threeplayground structures, firewood and a fire pitare all within the campground area. Thecampground is located on the south shore ofClearwater Lake surrounded by the beauty ofthe boreal forest interspersed with meadowsand Aspen/Oak Parkland.

Camper’s Cove is one of three popular publicbeaches on Clearwater Lake. Park visitorsmarvel at lake water so clear you can see tothe bottom of the lake. The lake is ideal forswimming as well as excellent habitat forNorthern Pike and Whitefish and highly prizedLake Trout.

Discover one of Manitoba’s undergroundwonders - the cool, dark caves of ClearwaterLake Provincial Park. Step out of the hotsummer sun and into a place where water dripsoff moss covered rocks and winter’s ice still

lingers. Created by the retreat of a vast glacier,these deep crevices formed when rock massessplit away from the shoreline cliffs. Nearbyboulders reveal fossilized plants and dolomitelayers that provide a snapshot of the ancientsea bottom from more than 400 million yearsago. Today, the caves shelter black bear,squirrels, weasels and hardy plants growing inthe dim light. The park is also home tothousands of red garter snakes that spendwinter below the frost line then emerge inspring for a spectacular mating ritual.Clearwater Lake Provincial offers a self-guidingtrail with stairways and viewing platforms toobserve this impressive geological marvel.

Located in northwestern Manitoba, travel 18kilometers north of PTH (Provincial TrunkHighway) #10 and then 5 kilometers east onProvincial Road # 287 to arrive at Campers Covecampsite.

Campground Tips• Be sure matches are extinguished.

Break them in half beforediscarding.

• Build no fires except in adesignated firepit or use a campstove. Before leaving make sureyour fire is completely out.

• Be careful with your cigarettes,cigars and pipe ashes. Crush themthoroughly before discarding.Never toss them from a vehicle.

• Please! Do not litter.

• Be sensitive to wildlife. Bears canbe dangerous and should not befed. Food must be stored awayfrom your campsite, preferablyin a locked vehicle, to avoidattracting hungry animals. Do notstore food in your tent.

• Warm clothing is needed forcool nights.

• The use of insect repellent will addto your comfort.

• In case of injury or illness contacta Campground Attendant or ParkPatrol Officer. They can assist youto reach medical help.

• Canoeists and hikers travelling inbackcountry areas should advisea friend of their intendeddestination and anticipated lengthof trip.

• Backcountry camping is onlyallowed at designated campsites.

• It is illegal to use or transportelm firewood.
