The campground is located on the south shore of Clearwater Lake surrounded by the beauty of the boreal forest interspersed with meadows and Aspen/Oak Parkland. Camper’s Cove is one of three popular public beaches on Clearwater Lake. Park visitors marvel at lake water so clear you can see to the bottom of the lake. The lake is ideal for swimming as well as excellent habitat for Northern Pike and Whitefish and highly prized Lake Trout. Discover one of Manitoba’s underground wonders - the cool, dark caves of Clearwater Lake Provincial Park. Step out of the hot summer sun and into a place where water drips off moss covered rocks and winter’s ice still lingers. Created by the retreat of a vast glacier, these deep crevices formed when rock masses split away from the shoreline cliffs. Nearby boulders reveal fossilized plants and dolomite layers that provide a snapshot of the ancient sea bottom from more than 400 million years ago. Today, the caves shelter black bear, squirrels, weasels and hardy plants growing in the dim light. The park is also home to thousands of red garter snakes that spend winter below the frost line then emerge in spring for a spectacular mating ritual. Clearwater Lake Provincial offers a self-guiding trail with stairways and viewing platforms to observe this impressive geological marvel. Located in northwestern Manitoba, travel 18 kilometers north of PTH (Provincial Trunk Highway) #10 and then 5 kilometers east on Provincial Road # 287 to arrive at Campers Cove campsite.
