What is Mobility Management?

Mobility Management is an institutional state of mind that emphasizes moving people instead of the mode of transportation.

A mobility manager is a transportation organization serving the general public that responds to and influences the demands of the market by undertaking actions and supportive strategies, directly or in collaboration with others, to provide a full range of options to the single-occupant automobile. TCRP Report 21: “Strategies to Assist Local Transportation Agencies in Becoming Mobility Managers” (1997)
