Executive Express Café Survey The Executive Express Café’s survey was designed to

help the café with decisions to increase the business’s growth.

Survey focused on staffing concerns, operations, services, products, and pricing.

The data from the survey was collected during the week of October 26, 2010,

The sample size of the data collected totaled 164 students.

Operating Ideas Not economically efficient for the café to operate

during dinner

Hours of operation are fine the way they are

Service could be improved

Providing an option to pay with commons cash would help the café’s business.

Product and Pricing Recommendations

Major changes to the products and pricing within the Executive Express may not be the best choice at the moment due to the recorded results of this survey; people tend to be satisfied or neutral on these issues.

Adding a few new products may be beneficial, however. Smoothies and milkshakes may generate enough interest in the student population to draw new customers and more profits.

Staffing Ideas Work with popular college of business student

organizations

Offer class credit

Offer a no pay internship through the café

Do not expect students to volunteer over 100 hours a semester

Emphasize the benefit of “real world experience” offered by working at the café

Conclusions By increasing student organization involvement or

offering internships or class credit, the operators of the Executive Express can reduce or eliminate the current staffing issues.

The Executive Express should keep its hours relatively similar due to the lack of evident returns on staying open into the evening hours.

Although customers seem relatively content with the current products within the Executive Express, there may be benefits in increasing the menu by adding new products.
