CAD/CAM(ComputerAidedDesign/ComputerAided Manufacturing)

• Defined as the use of computer systems to assist in creation, modification, analysis or optimization of design

• Use of Computers to perform certain functions in Design and Production.

• This technology will integrate such a functions to the computer integrated factory of the future

• For Example…

Objectives

To develop a CAD models for all the existing Farm Implements. To make a Design Analysis for the proto type testing and failure Diagnosis To Modify the existing Design with detail analysis by applying actual service condition. To prepare a report by generating a results on Ansys and Pro-E softwareTo provide a testing lab for the Industry for their testing of Tools and Equipments

Highlights of CAD/CAM Lab

Students are asked to draw the Farm machine equipments by taking an actual measurements on it.

The skill development Program in Design and Analysis software (Pro-E and Ansys ).

Design and Re-Designing exercise helps in realizing service function and Failure analysis of Farm tools and Equipments.

Students are promoted to software Industries (Job Rating from Rs900 toRs1900per Hr).

User can be trained to higher level Research work in Design Testing and analysis with licensed certified software accepted as per International Std.norms.

Faculty can Consult the Industries

Application Areas in Design, Analysis and Modelling Farm Machinery &Power equipments (Tools,Machines,Material

Handling system ) Agricultural process equipments Irrigation System equipments Electrical and other sources of energy equipments etc…

Project No:1

Objective To study the CAD process for agricultural

implement To study an application software such as pro-e,

Ansys To design a farm implement by modeling &

analysis for cultivator blade To prepare a report of CAE analysis for cultivator

blade To compare the accuracy of software by physical

& software test

Title: Computer Aided Design and analysis of cultivator

Experimental setup :

Pro-E software Server machine for CAD Model and Ansys software server machine for analysis

Universal Testing Machine (UTM) for strength analysis of cultivator blade

field performance

Scope of workFlexible attachment on cultivator with assembling and dissembling facilities

Rigid construction with optimum power consumption and easy to handle on working plat form

Ergonomics design with analysis of all parameter associated during service function

Model prepared on CAD software can exploit the variety of features on part with possible scope in Changing a design with certified fitness testing

Prototype model with Testing and all diagnostic feature

Forces acting on tines and there by entire assembly can be simulated with all types of analysis

Stresses developed on the part surface can be determined

Future Projects

1.Development of CAD Models of Farm Implements and their efficiency test by Pro-E and ANSYS for ex.

F.M.P. A.P.E. IDE EOES

ROTAVATOR Blancher Sprinkler SOLAR WEEDER SOY COOKER IRRI.System EQUIP. POWER TILLER

All above … …..It can be project work related to STRUCTURE ANALYSIS THERMAL ANALYSIS FLUID FLOW ANALYSIS ELECTRO MAGNETIC ANALYSIS
