Contributed to the proposal to Dutch Government for construction, equipping and stocking of the District information and Documentation Centre, coordinating under graduate teams in data collection, analysis and computerisation; introducing training in computer handling for interested civil servants (Ksh 30 million). Nyanza Provincial Planning Office (1993-1996): M&E activities of district projects; assisting CARLBRO consultants in pushing for district RDF projects; Capacity building of DDCs and planning offices in planning and M&E of projects. District based involvement in Migori and Kisii Districts 1996-1998 Continued with DDO’s jobs but with additional variation of planning for disbursement of national harambee funds for youth and women; Identification of CBOs for anti-AIDS funding; Monitoring IFAD funded activities; Involvement in LBDA’s water and sanitation programme. SNV Adviser/Coordinator of Migori Integrated Urban Development Programme (MIUDP) 1998-2002: Capacity built local CBOs in proposal writing and planning; Also development planning support and introduction of computer use to Migori Municipal Council ; coordinated the MCC/ALGAK/Dutch Municipalities Project; Successfully coordinated the revision of Migori Town physical plan; Mt Elgon District 2002-2006: Continued with DDO’s jobs but varied with new responsibilities such as : -Capacity building of selected CBOs and local committees for poverty and AIDS eradication; -Supervision of the World Bank sponsored LQAS evaluation of HIV/AIDS interventions; - Successfully implemented the poverty reduction programme: - Played a critical role in the launch of CDF and subsequent successful disbursement of Kh 26 million in 3 years to improve educational, water, environment and health
