A note from HEF: As always, we had exceptional candidates who will be taking their talents to colleges and universities throughout the state of Iowa and beyond. The HEF board is positive that our community will be impressed with the students who will be recognized this year.
We must begin by thanking the many donors to the Hudson Educational Fund; either named scholarships or those Hudson community members, faculty and staff who contribute gener-ously every year, for without them, we would not be able to assist our students in achieving their dreams to further their education.
This is the 23th year of HEF, and 45 scholarships will be award-ed, for a total of approximately $28,000.
- The Hudson Educational Fund Board Members: Brian McCullough, Jim Prather, Chad Christopher,
Casey Smelser, Jeff Dieken, Mark Schlatter, Brenda Klenk, Leslie Nixon, Liz Seres, Kate Mitchell, Rona Messmore, Zachary Smith, Joanne Hawkins, and Jeanne Hansen

-Mrs. Uden, math teacher
You are an extraordinary class that has always brought a smile to my face. Continue to be extraordinary

-Mr. Curley, business teacher & coach

better to choose than to be forced. Don’t let the events in your life enslave you; instead choose to make the best of it.
-Mr. Simmer, social studies teacher & Model UN advisor You have shown you are capable
of accomplishing so many amazing things! Keep striving to accomplish
your goals; never settle for mediocrity, and stay true to yourselves and who you are. We are so proud of you!
-Mrs. Davis, band teacher
Don’t let what you had to endure this spring define who you are. Come out of this a better person.
We believe in you! -Mr. Wurzer, health teacher & activities director
I want to wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors. Thank you for making my first year at
Hudson very special. I look forward to fol-lowing where life takes you all! Go Pirates!

can make a difference in this world. I can’t wait to see what kind of difference you make!
