Creation

The energy created by geothermal power plants is created when steam rises to earths surface through large pipes and spins turbines. These turbines are much like the turbines used in wind and hydroelectric.

Data support energy usage Geothermal projects create financial growth and jobs The Nevada Geothermal Council states “the state’s 300 MW of geothermal power alone save 4.5 million barrels of oil (the

equivalent fuel used by 100,000 cars) and avoid emissions of 2.25 million tons

of CO2 annually.” CalEnergy has plans to build new power complex in California

(as of Feb. 2012) average of 323 construction workers will be employed. When the project is done it will require 57 full time positions for operations, engineering, maintenance, and administration.

Geothermal Energy Efficient •Geothermal energy is one of the most efficient way to create energy.(windfallcentre.ca)•It delivers 94% of efficiency.•For every 4 units of energy creates 1 unit of electrical unit power.(geothermalgenius.org)•Highly efficient geothermal systems are on average 48 percent more efficient than gas furnaces, 75 percent more efficient than oil furnaces, and 43 percent more efficient when in the cooling mode. (energyhomes.org)
